Doesn't seem like this year we are battling FSU for any recruits down the stretch and it's a bit odd.

No last minute battles over the Coleys, Antoine Smiths, Dalvin Cooks, Davonte Phillips, Matthew Thomas', etc. Anyone else find this a bit strange?

I'm sure they're still trying to get DJ Matthews. I'd like our chances there if Jimbo was to leave for LSU. For the most part FSU wasn't a factor in Sfla this cycle. A lot of North and Central Florida kids and OOS.

Gaytors were the main threat this year in the tri county. Mainly dade.

They got Daniel Wright & Cyrus ***an, who were two prospects we wanted, but never really had a shot with.

We flipped Jennings from them, and snatched another legacy kid in Weldon, although they were never really recruiting him.

We might have to fight for McKitty down the line, but for the most part their class isn't complete yet & they basically just landed all their top prospects early on.

We're battling them mostly for 2018 kids, with Jimbo possibly heading to LSU we likely won't be fighting that much more with them for South Fla kids.

Like Mjack said, the Gaytors is who we've been at war with for most of this recruiting cycle & so far, they're winning.

DJ Matthews got the FSU spear tattoo on him

Reuben foster has the auburn AU tatted on him. Yet he plays for Alabama.

But we know that is not happening

One battle vs. FSU that we might've won was for Jonathan Garvin, who chose Miami over Clemson & FSU. Don't know how much they prioritized him, though. But he's a much better player and athlete than guys like Owen Carney or Jordan Wright that they seem to be pushing for.

Some can talk about stealing Jennings, but it's hard to imagine them losing any sleep over that one. Their two current LB commits are similarly rated as low three-star players, but they close incredibly strong on the trail and will almost surely be able to land bigger fish. Unfortunately.

To many variables before we can say we won't be battling much with them for 2018 kids.
Who knows who they hire if Jimbo goes.
