The Defense WON the phucking game yesterday in spite of the offense making 11 first downs with 52 plays as well as giving up a long punt return, and another vintage Stephen Morris interception, and an epic penalty ridden ruined drive after a big play.

Congratulations defense and way to respond and pull this one out

Disagree. I think it was more due to UVA's own offensive ineptitude than our defensive abilities.

They had 90 offensive plays. That means they owned our defense and moved the ball with ease. UVA shot themselves in the foot with the turnovers. Get a grip dude.

Defense got turnovers, yes, but they played on of the worst offenses in the nation and gave up 483 yards and 26 points. They also were bailed out by at least 6-7 drops by UVA and of couple of horrible throws by their pathetic excuse for a QB. UVA also had more rushing yards in the first half than what they averaged on the season coming in. I will say the defense played better than the offense, but that's like being the tallest midget in the room.

Does it kill to give credit to the players at least once? Like literally? I find it comedic that every 30 year old, lazy, non athletic guy who were never good enough to even see the field in high school all of the sudden just rip into all of these kids about their lack of talent

they made plays but the D still got gashed. 450+ plus to a terrible offense isn't acceptable. turnovers saved us yesterday

Right, because you have to be a football player or have played football in order to be critical of the team. I suppose by that profound logic, I shouldn't complain about politicians because I have never served a day in Congress in my life.

Give them credit for what? Letting UVA gain 150 yards more than their average? Giving up 26 points to UVA? I'll give them credit for the turnovers, but they didn't play a good game overall against one of the worst offenses and worst teams in the nation. Your other part is ridiculous. They're more athletic than me, so I can't criticize them when they don't play well? That's absurd. I have a Ph D in history and teach at the university level, and you know who is allowed to criticize me? Students who don't have their BA yet. They do it on end of the semester evaluations. According to you, they shouldn't have the right because they don't have the historical knowledge or teaching experience or ability that I do.

UVA lost the game...we did not win it...Allow that to sink in because there is a difference

The defense certainly did not play a "good" game. They continue to allow long scoring drives and rarely force a punt. That said, they are responsible for 21 of the points - almost as much as the lackluster offense. The offense still can't sustain drives and this is contributing to the defensive stats (giving up 500 ypg) as much as the defense's inability to get off the field on third down. Two of the three defensive TD's (yes, I'm counting Gunter's return to the 1) were 10-14 point swings. UVA crushes UM, like Duke, if the Defense doesn't make big plays.

Stating the obvious, our defense is pretty bad. The D Line is the heart of the problem. A good D Line can hide alot of other ill's in your other 7 guys.

With that being said, the defense forced 6 punts. Our offense went 3-out 7 faucking times. The D forced 4 turnovers, converted 2 of those into 14 points and set up another 14. So the defense in spite of giving up 483 yards ( 130 in garbage time when the game was out of hand) won the game for us. When we get turnovers, its always the other team shot themselves in the foot, when we have a pass bounce off the WRs hands and intercepted its look at the great play the other team made. SMH at all these guys who think we're driving a Ferrari when all we got is a Ford Taurus with some 18 rims on it.

Both the offense and the defense were bad yesterday... Virginia was worse.

If not for a dozen wide open drops, UVA would have had 800 yards on us.

Morris was awful. Thouroughly booed during the game by all 10,000 fans. Or most of them at least.

Only ones ripping these kids' talent are Doh'nofrio and Golden.

You want everyone to give credit for four plays out of 90? Sure. Good job, good effort to the guys who made those plays in spite of the ****** defensive scheme that allowed close to 500 yards and 26 points by a Virginia team that's 0-7 in conference play. There, I'm giving credit where credit is due. Plays were made by players and our defensive scheme got *** raped as usual. You happy?

More like a Honda Civic with 4 donuts.
