Has anyone noticed that on 3rd and 1 situations

For the life of me I cannot figure out what to post here to be taken seriously.

Miami is very difficult to stop. The short yardage run game is stout!
Serious reply. The short yardage game is very much improved this year. Not sure I would call it stout, but it is better than average. I've seen us get stuffed multiple times on short yardage situations this year, but we are converting at a better rate than we have since Frank Gore was playing here.

@DMoney rightly defended Martinez the last few games. He was asked to pound the rock early to soften up opponents' defense, then other RBs would break off chunk yards late. Even I was saying the experiment was a failed one and we should run with Fletcher et al. ... Well, we saw what Martinez can do in the 4th quarter. That TD run to secure the game was special. Super happy for both him and the team.

True. A couple years ago a 3rd and 1 or a goal line situation seemed to be 50/50 at best as to whether we would convert

I held my breath every time Knighton touched the ball. Half the time it would be a TFL, a quarter of the time a fumble and a quarter of the time he'd get some yards but maybe not enough.

The title of your thread..... idk man... it irks me for some reason. It feels like it implies this is something that is a hidden stat or easy to miss. If you watch the games, I don't see how anyone can not notice.

But I'm just nitpicking though. Nothing to take seriously.

I actually hate it when we need half a yard and we line up in shotgun. QB sneak should be the call most of the time IMO.

It is better. But our short yardage defense still stinks. We're setting ourselves up for failure with formation and personnel. When Louisville had 4th and one they went jumbo and we did not respond with a goal line package and it was too easy.

I think yesterday might have been the first time Ive seen us get stopped in short yardage this year.

We’re the best third down team in the country and being able to easily pick up third and one or two is a huge part of it
