Maybe I am cynical or just distrusting of many so-called journalists these days... I believe the "quotes" excluded from interviews can be as important in "shaping" an articles as the quotes that are included. And if I don't trust the source, I'm not giving much credence to three lines. And we all know nothing generates more clicks than controversy and uncertainty.

For fun, here's how that interview could have gone:

Q: So you committed to the Miami Hurricanes last night, how solid is that commitment?
A: Oh, it's solid. I love the Hurricanes. Coach Banda is a great dude. Amari is over there now and we're really close, I kind of look up to him.

I hate the big verbal commit followed with but not really 100%. Why do it then?
