Guidry handled Norvell last year

Obviously none of us have confidence in the defense right now but one thing that does make me think this might be a Get Right game for them (aside from fsu having the worst offense in the country) is the fact that Guidry really had Norvell’s number last year when fsu had a much, much better offense.

5.19 yards per play was the fewest for fsu in any game Travis started last season. Only 27 points. They only ran the ball for 57 yards, which was the 2nd fewest all year. Not a ton of explosives. I don’t remember the defense really being out of position a bunch.

So I’m hoping the combination of FSU’s ineptitude and Guidry having success a year ago against this scheme makes for a good night defensively. We desperately need it. FSU hasn’t scored more than 20 points all year, the literal only FBS school who can say that. We can’t let them break that streak.

I’ll take 45-17, please.

There is not a lot of things I’m certain about when it comes to college football and specifically Miami Hurricanes football.

But I’m certain of this. If we come out fast and punch them in the grill they will quit on each other and the game faster than any team in the country.

Enough with the hope. Miami needs to dominate these mother****ers. Guidry needs to remove his head from his *** and deliver today.

Let's ******* go! It is Game Day. There should be no hope for FSU!

I think betting the vermin this game is the safest bet on the entire board - Miami alone covers it

I’m 33 and this is the first time in my life that I KNOW we are gonna beat FSU

2020 was so early in the season (our 3rd game, FSU’s 2nd) that I think most of us felt good but wasn’t a sure thing until we saw the blood bath

Just feels great. I do think the defense plays way better today - I also expect FSU to get 16-20 points on flea flicker mis direction type BS because this is their Super Bowl

The defense played very well against FSU last year and that was with the offense doing a whole bunch of nothing for a majority of the game. We probably won’t be going three and out against FSU today very often if at all. Jordan Travis isn’t there to carry them either.

I am watching to see if Guidry will field an improved defense. If he holds FSU to single digits and the defense makes tackles, communicate and know their assignments, then I will feel better about this team as a whole in the ACC championship game and the CFP. This is also the time to get the underclassmen ready to contribute.

Guidry has 4-5 games to right the ship on defense, and there is really no excuses

It’s an interesting matchup. Norvells first 15 plays are scripted and typically his best plays of the game. The knock on Guidry is seemingly being unprepared at first for the new wrinkles the opponent throws at us. If we are successful during those first 15 it will be the blowout we hope for.

If FSU had Virginia Tech or Louisville‘s quarterback, they’d probably be 5–2 or 4–3.

Those guys are capable guys who do it every week. FSU’s quarterbacks are horrendous and incapable of doing anything consistently positive over the course of an entire game.

Tonight our defense is gonna look much better than it has lately.

We roll.

All they need to do to have some success is screen and counters away. We can’t stop those. It still won’t be enough bc they are a mess but that’s the ticket to beating Guidrys D.

Well counter is all they run, and did last year, and Guidry handled it fine.

Mmm...seems like that was the ticket to beating Manny's defenses too. Are these ultra-aggressive defenses their own worst enemy?

They will counter, and do reverses, and as much misdirection as possible.

The tight ends will be open all game, and anything over the middle will be open by 5 yards.

I expect a flea flicker TD bomb on their first drive.

Won't be enough to win, but they'll have their season high stats tonight. (Points scored, yards, yards per patch, conversion rate)
