This is a hypothetical question so don’t kill me, but everybody knows Guidry is or should be a dead man walking so IF (and it’s a big IF) we make the playoffs does Guidry still call plays or does something different happen in game planning.

Something has to change you can’t just run it back and say hey Guidry keep doing what you’re doing, this should even apply to the bowl game IMO.

If we make the playoffs you never punt. Literally go for it on every down, no field goals either. All gas no brakes.

Play like if you dont have a defense

I’ve said previously I think its 50/50 at best he is let go. He’d call plays in the playoffs if we get in.
To retain beyond that, I’d like to see an emphasis on simplifying the scheme to allow players to play up to their speed.

personally I'd let him go after early NSD regardless if we make playoffs or not

in the rare event we make the playoffs, give playcalling duties to D Nich as he is the Co-DC

He lost his job when they showed how we lined up wrong on the goal line. Commentator was an ex player and basically said that should never happen. But problem is it has happened repeatedly.

The people with the $ need to realize that if we get matched up vs. Notre Dame in a playoff game It is worth a years salary to hire an analyst to make sure we aren't doing **** like dropping DEs into coverage and misaligning in the red zone.

Ed O calling the defense against ND from a bar in Key West would be better than moar Guidry.

Do we have anybody else on the coaching roster that can do anything?

Ask Jimmy Johnson to come out of retirement for the playoffs. Would get great ratings.

“NFL and CFB legend Jimmy Johnson will be taking over as DC in the playoffs for the University of Miami Hurricanes against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He is looking for his long overdue revenge for the famous Catholics vs Convicts game.”

That would bring more press than the rest of cfb

The offense has to help the defense by eating clock. the defense needs to substitute more to keep the defense fresh. It will take the offense, defense and special teams working together to benefit the entire team.

Isn’t coach D-Nicholson co Defensive Coordinator, have him call the shots. Can’t be any worst

The defense gives up chunk plays to teams that aren't explosives offenses and also gets dog walked by one-dimensional teams controlling TOP you can't protect a defense like that.

Shortening the game just means the other team is gonna score on the same % of total possessions and the number is gonna be lower in the box score only now if Miami has an INT, fumble, drop, or personal foul that kills a drive that mistake is now a bigger % of the final score and you have fewer possessions to outplay that mistake.
