He's a former Miami Hurricane DC. Cane4Life He coached here in 99 & 2000. He has serious South Florida ties and is well liked by several BOT members. If you think this doesn't belong on a Miami Hurricanes football board…. SMH
not to mention the Penn St. opening and how it relates to our current program.

I know Schiano was a former coach here.

But even though Schiano is the title of the thread the subject is clearly Lovie and how good of a hire the OP thinks it is.

I am the OP and the title is Greg Schiano out in Tampa. The part about Lovie is to Confirm what were rumors up until this point. Lovie is now the new head coach. It's official. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10229285/lovie-smith-tampa-bay-buccaneers-reach-agreement

I don't know about "Cane4Life," when he was offered the job at MIAMI, he turned it down.
