good stuff. i was friends with that guy during undergrad...he's as diehard a canes fan as they come.

Meh, some good stuff but not all of it.

The NCAA used the Freeh report against PSU because it was an independent investigation conducted by a team of investigators sanctioned by the University itself, and the university agreed with the findings. They couldn't use the Yahoo article as grounds to penalize UM because Robinson was the only investigator, his purpose was profit-motivated, and UM did not sanction his investigation nor agree with the findings.

That's not to say that they were right to punish PSU at all...whether it was in their scope of responsibility to punish PSU is a different question altogether. But there were distinct reasons why they did use the Freeh report and didn't use the Roboinson story.

He's been a good guy to have on our side during this fiasco. Nicely written well thought out articles.

Nice if his articles get some attention.
