Golden: Davon Johnson is one of the greatest stories of the year for #Canes. "Wish I had Davon for a couple more years."

Golden "doesn't think" there is a chance Hurns doesn't play. "He's already told me he's playing no matter what," Golden said.

Golden said Tracy Howard "has really grown up the past couple of weeks."

I said Terry was suspended 2 weeks ago and was insulted - his suspension was delayed a week. Where are the folks that called me all kinds of names now? Bunch of internet tough guys here that can barely mumble a word in real life.

Water down the OOC schedule to give them a chance to compete within conference.

This is beginning to worry me. He says he is here to get it fixed and I believe him but I have no doubt he regrets taking this job at this point. The last two interviews I have seen with Golden are the first two I have ever seen him publicly upset about what is going on at Hecht. Not good.

Or maybe he was speaking in a sense of looking forward and reflecting on the past scheduling practices. I think he's referring to the 2 previous ADs kept adding more difficult OOC games, while he was lobbying to have a lesser schedule.

Well, hurrikane... I was not among the ones who insulted you here, but this post really do not help your cause. Like RiDLer80 said, Golden with a delayed suspension?!? How can you prove it? Plus, by reinstating Johnson and not Terry, it´s clear that #58 damage was bigger. How can he simple delay it is what I want to understand... can you be more specific?

Plus, Oh Snap is right. He shut down that rumor last week.

Love where he is saying that he's dug in and here for the long haul. We need a long term solution and while the results have been mixed I still feel he's the right man for the job.

Hopefully we run into each other in "real life" at some point.

What does losing to Notre Dame 5 weeks ago have to do with controlling our destiny in the Coastal until we blew it in Charlottesville? This guy is an excuse machine.

And for the record, Kansas State was likely scheduled with the mindset of them being a middle-of-the-road Big 12 team. Not the best team in the country.

What coach wouldn't want the job security provided by playing 8 ACC games + 3 cupcakes + 1 big OOC opponent. It's what most major FBS programs schedule. Not to mention 7 home games.


Now, whether or not that is attainable is a good question. We've reached an age of college football as a business where non-BCS conference schools can command upward of a million dollars to play @ a school without a home and home agreement. Simply put, with our current lease at No Life Stadium, not owning our own stadium, that's not something we can easily afford. Hence, home and home deals with schools like Toledo and Memphis.

Good points.

Double edged sword for us of going with an SEC type schedule of mostly home games and 1 big OOC opponent is that when we play 7 homes games no one will show up. We may as well play toledo and memphis on the road.

everyone can say what they want about golden but dude js literally the only thing keeping this program from sinking. Gotta respect a man that's willing to hang in there and fight when so much BS has gone on around him.
