Had some good stuff to say.

We've heard a lot of it before, but reiterated some good points.

It sounds like we're definitely self-imposing scholarship losses this year, which makes sense. We knew this would be a small class regardless. Sounds like "15 or 16" is the hard number unless some 5-stars roll in at the last minute.

He also mentioned the defense:

"We have to generate a pass rush. There's no question about it. We only get one sack against a team that throws it as many times as they've thrown it, and that's happened too often. It's all tied together, because if we don't get pressure on the QB, we can't play man-to-man, and then you're giving up soft throws. You can play man all you want, but as you see, it's gonna break down if you can't get to the QB."

I wonder if we will officially self impose scholarship losses. I would expect Golden wants the flexibility of being able to add 5 star here or there if someone wants to come, but that needs to be weighed against the potential benefit in the eyes of the NCAA if we do.

His remarks about how few guys that played on defense saturday were not in camp this spring were very eye opening. Bush, Jenkins, Howard, McCord,Porter, etc etc etc

Boy Clinton Portis asking the hard hitters. Questioning Al on Coach D and offensive philosophy and how it didn't compliment the D very well.

Both those interviews had some good info in there. It was interesting to hear in the earlier interview with Joe how he said they made a conscious effort to be more uptempo and try to out score teams this year. The orders came from the top, I know there was alot of people who liked the Fisch offense from 2011 but not this years version so much. Even though we scored more, rushed for about the same amount of yards, and passed for more.

Clinton also asked Golden in the second interview about running the ball more and Golden commented later in same interview that next year they want to avg. 200 rushing to get more balance.

Will anyone have a better WR core than us for the next few years?

I am excited by the depth and overall talent, but would like for that one WR to really step up; a la Andre Johnson, Santana, etc. I'm not sure we have that player yet (hope I am wrong).

If Dorsett didn't go through that drop phase he would've been insane this year. Bottom line is he gets wide open alot. Some of the time, Morris over or under throws him but you can see that he has the seperation. He needs to work on his ball skills for sure but I expect him to emerge next year. I think Dorsett can be a Santana Moss type guy here.

I would like to see some other deep threats besides PD emerge. I'm hoping Waters is that guy. I think Scott can be too.

The others are all great possesion recievers. Hurns, Lewis, etc. I think AJL coming in as a fresh and guys like Jontavious coming off a reshirt could be good options too. Can't wait to see.

We don't have a true number one yet. We have a lot of good receivers but nobody great. Hopefully somebody takes the next step.

Of course, you can win in college with a bunch of good receivers if you can run the ball well.

Also, hearing that Golden made the decision to play at a faster tempo makes me really happy, because maybe Fisch is closer to the OC we saw in 2011 and does like to run the ball.

Duke made our running game numbers look good. Our running game sucked this year, and we lost some games and made others much closer because it sucked. Golden needs to direct his OC to commit to a power running game so we'll have it when we need it.

3FW, understood, but how can Fisch do that without a power back. I love James but he is an average RB at best. You also can't say "well, Duke made the running game look good"...well, he is PART OF IT. Take Adrian Peterson out of the Vikings running game and they suck too.
