I am watching this 30/30 and I now view Mo Clarret in a totally different light. I have a lot of respect for what this guy has done with his life.

Couldn't bring myself to watch. Catching up on my Fast and Loud on the DVR seemed more fun.

Other than the pass interference play it was a great show. He's completely different than I expected

If you ever have the opportunity to watch the rerun you should! His story is very inspiring and makes me hate Ohio St even more.

Can you give the cliff notes version?

Would love to but im not much of a good writer and there was so much information given that I don't even know where to start and I cant provide proper names.

However I will tell you this...

  • Maurice Clarett had a great work ethic growing up, he actually graduated 6 months early so he can enroll to Ohio St and compete for the starting running back position.

  • He also wasn't your typical jock, he was known to be a laid back guy who didn't really like the limelight. After the games all he wanted to do was stay home, watch tv, spend time with his family and friends and just relax rather than partying. In fact he wasn't much of a party guy at all. He was just a pretty innocent kid with a good heart

  • The week of the national championship game against Miami, a good friend of his was murdered. Clarett told the AD im guessing that he wanted to go home and attend the funeral. The AD said yes and told him to wait for a phone call and he will instructions on how he could go home later on that night. However Clarett never received a phone call period. During Media Day Clarett expressed his frustration pretty much saying that everyone is being too caught up into the game and he feels like no one care about him and his situation he going through.

Clarrett Down Fall
  • NCCA accused him for receiving improper benefits *too long of a story to explain* I feel like he was pretty innocent regarding to that though. He even covered for Tressel.
  • The AD made the rest of Clarett time at OSU a living **** after his Media Day interview. Not letting Maurice eat or workout with the team and even made him do ridiculous running drills for punishment. Also he gave Clarett extreme academic requirements, like he had to maintain a 3.5 GPA and some other stuff.
  • Clarett started going through depression during the rest of his time at OSU he wasnt allowed to play football and interact with his teammate etc. He felt betrayed. He was later introduced to the nightlife (alcohol, drugs, pornstars, etc) and it all went down hill from there

Again its hard to explain his story w/o writing a novel. But the important thing is whoever that **** head at OSU was (idk if he was the AD or not) is ******* disgusting and should go to **** for playing with that man future like that! Im not saying he ruined Clarrett life but like Jim Tressel stated, "Everybody at OSU played an important role for Clarett downfall".

Mo grabbed some brownie points with me as well.

Hate for the Buckeyes was renewed though.

I hate OSU but after seeing MO interviewed the other day, he's actually well spoken, humble and offers a good story on how to turn your life around. He's a good guy and it was actually one of the most enlightening and surprising interviews for me to watch. OSU hung him out to dry, period.

I didn't see it but I've thought poorly of OSU for how they used and discarded both him & Pryor. It's striking to me how we revere our former Canes and they hold some of their former players in disdain.

And it is equally interesting to see how Tressel has crashed and burned since being cast out, as well.
