We were pretty much gifted this game by Glennon's inexplicable toss for an INT with 55 sec left. I was sitting at the other end of the field but didn't see any real pressure so it looked like he tossed up a ChrisRix duck, which is really inexplicable given the clock. Let alone attempt a pass with momentum on your side and OT seconds away. So did anyone hit him?

Throw was on target. Receiver broke his route. Woulda been a jump ball between finnie and a big wr

Ironically I think NC State was content to run out the clock and take the game to OT if not for our defense giving up a big run on the prior play.

From my point of view it looked like the receiver basically stopped running/gave up on the route when the ball was already in the air. I think the receiver was much more at fault than Glennon.

it wasn't "gifted" to us. someone made a mistake. as noted, the wr broke the route. either his glennon's fault. either way, it was like a punt and we still need to drive and score a fg or td under a minute.

Looks like it was an option route.. the WR curled because finnie was over the top... and glennon wasn't expecting him to curl.

**** yeah it was, calling that play was the mistake and gift, it wasn't like he attempted that throw with 11 seconds left. Our drives on the day probably averaged 1 minute...we didn't need to drive because we couldn't drive but we sure could score quick with the long ball. You sit on that and go to OT you don't throw a low % long-ball from the 20

I didn't think they wanted to go to over time with us... they saw what happened to Gtech...

I doubt they were thinking about the Ga Tech game. They probably felt very confident going into OT against us. Wieclaw had already missed 3 FG's while their kicker is a stud. Most of our points were scored on big plays via a vertical passing game while they pretty much ate up chunks of yards up and down the field at will. Shorten the field to 25 yards and they definitely had the advantage, especially with the way the shut down our running game.

They definitely wanted to go to OT with us. When they got the ball back and started on the ~10, they ran it. It looked like they were going to run out the clock, but we gave up a big run, boosted their confidence, and then they threw that pick.

Yep, exactly. Like I said earlier, it's kind of ironic that our defensive ineptitude ultimately played a big part in winning this game. Although props to Finnie for making the INT.

they were able to run the ball on us and we were the walking dead in the RZ, not to mention the fact that our kicker had a demon in his head. They should have been drooling to go to OT. I don't want to take away from the win - or the W against GT where Tevin inexplicably changes the 4th down play and goes solo to get stuffed - but we benefited by some coaching ineptitude in both Ws at very crucial times.

All that matters is the W and the fight in the dog that these Canes keep showing. After the first two home games the offense has me more worried and frustrated - mostly because we can't afford to have the defense back on the field 3-and-out after 3-and-out. We should have put this game away in the first quarter
