As painful as the second half of the season has been (Duke injury was catastrophic) I think some perspective is needed.

We had some big holes on both sides of the ball.

On offense we did not have a backup to duke or morris and it showed.

On defense entire DLine and LB (save for Perryman) were substandard (even chickillo played below expecations) and some members of our secondary were also substandard. I respect all of them as they all came in during our darkest years so no need to bash any more.

As far as coaching goes I will leave that up to all of you. My only thought here is that we were not at full strenght and there is only so much we could do. Having said that next two years will tell as there will be no more excuses.

We will have ballers all over the field on offense next year with adequate starters AND backups on offense. Yearby, Powell, and Gus are plenty good to backup DUKE. Oline is plenty good as are receivers (Herb, Coley, Dorsett, Berrios are a handful). Walford is better than advertised. Obviously we need a smart field general to just orquestate the offense and let all the above to their stuff. Williams is the wildcard here.

On defense DLINE should be much improved and Chad and new jucos will fill out DLine just fine IMO (AQM and Tyriq have great potential). Linebacker is iffy but Figs and Grace could change that if they take the step we think they can. Secondary could be awesome with Tracy, Burns, Bush, Carter and incoming talent.

In short we need to see the forest thru the trees, understand that Rome was not built in one day, and get behind this team! Whether we like the star system or not we will have 4 and 5 star players all over the field next year (worked prettey well for FSU this year).

I refuse to judege the product until next year end. As far as I am concerned we are where we need to be. Losses to FSU, Duke and Louisville were true to our defeciencies. Vtech was played in horrible weather and those games are always a coin flip.

Go canes!

Good God give up with the lame excuses... weather, really??? The thing most with a brain on this board see, yes the incoming talent will help, BUT what have you seen that gives you any faith that this staff can coach them up?

We will find out next year! Can only do so much with what we had. nine wins is nine wins. Next year will tell all...

LOL, you have 3 years of data, you are choosing to ignore that because it doesn't support your agenda.

On the plus side - The talent levels are definitely going to better next year; Probably as good as they've since the mid-2000's. That's something.

On the "I'm not so sure side" - James Coley needs to get waaaay better and coach dorito needs to get waaaaay far away from Coral Gables. We'll see.

All in all, Im more optimistic now than Ive been at any time during the Shalala era, post 2002.

My agenda is clear. We did not have enought ballers on both sides of the ball because of NCAA and poor recruiting. Go back three years and tell me which DLine and linebackers we fielded were championship material.

I respect your opinion but stand my mine.

Going by patterns of Goldens career he has always improved his defense in year 4. So as long as Coley gets a little better and defense improves like it has in the past on his watch Miami will probably win 10-12 games next year.

Confused did we need a backup for Morris? If Ryan gets his chance you will see that he is better then Morris for Coleys system.

kamalu, aqm, mccord, grace, and figs will all be better. my friend played at miami in early 2000's and he said "it wont be said because of his last name but chick just inst that good. he is not going to be jj watt."
