Kul has done very well with DE's. Not so much with DT's. We needed 2 DT's last year and he got Ford. Now we need 3 this year and none of signed yet.

We needed DT's to sign early so they can come in and contribute right away. If RJ and Norton declare for the NFL they we have 3 3 gap DT's left on the roster (Willis-Maybe, Bethel, Ford), 2 of which are converted DE's. We need 1 gap DT's in the worst way. If Norton is gone it gets ugly. Stopping the run next year could be worse than it was earlier in the year this season.

Imo replacing mcintosh will be hard because he showed up in every game but norton? He disappeared in a lot of games and only had 6.5 tfls 2 sacks. Any of our dts could put up those numbers next year with the snaps norton had

That's not really Norton's job. We could replace him with some stiff who puts up meaningless numbers against stiffs but can't hold up against the run versus opponents who can threaten us.

I don't want to be a team that scoffs at old man football. These days plenty of basic plays are simply glammed up with distractive motion and makeup.

It is easy for the 1 gap DT to appear as though he disappeared. They get double teamed. He is the one that makes everybody else's job easier.

We have 3 guys in Ford, Bethel and Willis to replace RJ. Who replaces Norton? Silvera is the only one that can do it and he will be a Freshman.

Ford, Willis and Bethel are not the same big wide bodied DT's that Norton is.

Why the fck do we struggle to land top DTs? We thought it was because of that retarded scheme we were running, but we still don't seem to be getting the interest of the top DTs. Why is that? Our DL has been nasty and Kool is a beast, so why are the top guys not biting?

1. Don't give me any crap about Kool'- yes he's awesome at developing, but we should be giving him the best raw materials.
2. Don't give me any crap about stars don't matter. They aren't everything, but they do matter and for some reason we don't seem to be able to land any 4/5* DTS.

Stars don't matter. Kul turns fcs level kids into nfl prospects ffs.
We have a legit 3 deep with silvera. We need one more in case an injury happens since we rotate so many guys - 2 more would be the max after Silvera.

Our 1 tech is loaded right now with Ford, big hoss Fines, and Silvera. We could take 1 more like Coburn for depth purposes. Our 3 tech is in great hands with bethel, Willis, and Martin, and we'll see Jackson and Johnson rotate in on 3rd downs.
