The stakes couldn't be higher. This recruiting class and the '23 season go well beyond the normal reach of 25 scholarships or 12 football games. Conference realignment is the elephant in every room. We need an attractive athletic program. We already ****ed the baseball hire. Football is the big ticket. We've got to get this right.

The BIG sucks at baseball. We should have been it's crown jewel- if they're serious about reaching us- which I have my doubts about.

We NEED to be an attractive athletic product during realignment. Otherwise, there is no "coming back."

I'm not holding my breath on overchieving in terms of victories. Recruiting is where we have to win. And we're losing, bit time.

My patience is totally exhausted. Figure it out, Mario. $8m a year. Figure it the **** out.

Regarding the Big, SEC, or whomever, do we have to compete in all sports? They have a lot of sports we don't have. I suppose it wouldn't be that big of a deal with the increased funding, but I wonder if there's a threshold we have to reach teams wise. I don't believe all the Big teams have hockey, so maybe not every sport.

Don't know their rules, but obviously, that only underscores the point triply.

The minor sports don't matter nearly as much, If there is a sport the conference doesn't support then Miami would be affiliated with another conference that does. Kentucky and South Carolina are SEC schools with mens soccer and participate in CUSA for that sport.

Would be cool to see Miami add hockey, Lax or Gymnastics as smaller sports if they do move.

The obvious sports to add are men's soccer, men's golf, and softball.

The team hasn't even played a game yet. Let's let things play out before declaring the coach a bust.

Not really our fanbases style. We’re more of the

Facts. I do believe Mario is a far better coach than Golden, Manny & washed Richt.

But that’s if you’re paying the same going rate, with the same facilities, the same staff/recruiting budget. **** when Richt got hired we had our pro day in a tropical depression…. With double the money, double the budget? Yeah it shouldn’t be “just better than before”… and tbh that’s after the worst season in 15 years. I got faith but we NEED results.

I am writing this to demonstrate my affinity for the thread title.

You aren’t wrong, and everybody knows it.

I have a hard time believing Mario didn’t see the writing on the wall.

I can’t speak to our NIL prowess right now, but it is pretty clear that something is odd.

Mario is a price I never thought we could pay, or would pay, but for the reason that our record brought last year, he wasn’t who I wanted. I wanted a better game day coach and at least half the recruiter, but We all knew that the best recruiters would be somewhat neutralized by what NIL would bring..if you have a stellar game day coach too…you have it all.

I hope he is going to shock me and all of us before December. No more we are under the number because of this or that…now is the time to catch up fully on that front. I hope he lands some big fish. If we lose on the recruiting front with him too, this could be bad, bad, bad…

I still think he pulls some surprises late

He’s not better than “washed” Richt.

Just a year ago, the pundits were calling Miami the most attractive school in the state. Now not so much.
