Can we confirm if he's on scholarship this coming year? I know it was reported he earned one, but can't remember if it was for last year or for the upcoming year as I assume scholarships for walk ons are year by year basis?

Kidd along with two other walk ons were awarded the scholarships back August AG mentioned it during a press conference. But I doubt he stays on scholarship this year, we have the depth at WR we need and roster management cuts will be in affect.

And that scholarship is only good for one year...

All scholarships are renewed on a year to year basis. There is a four year scholarship that the NCAA allowed schools to offer starting a couple of years back, but no one but Big10 and a few small schools ever decided to offer them, and most athletes dont know that they even exist. Instead 99.9% of all CFB players are awarded a one yr ship that then is either extended for another yr or rescinded, based solely on what the HC decides is best for the program...
