Thanks to those that suggested camps. I mentioned putting together some highlights of my son's season and we finally got around to going through the videos. If you have a few minutes check out the highlights. My son is #2 in either the red or white jerseys.

Feel free to pass on feedback for those who know the QB position, or if we should make changes to the video format.

I'm not a QB guru by any stretch but congratulations man, kid can sling the ball. Looks small (only a frosh though?) but he throws on the run with accuracy and I loved the shoulder fake corner end zone throw.

Pretty impressive for such a young kid!

Thanks. Yeah, he is 5'10" and about 150 lbs. He has played QB in flag for years, but this was his second in pads. Thanks for the kind words, hopefully he will grow some more (size and ability) and realize his dream of playing for the U!

Some shots he looks short but he's actually as tall as the linemen it looks like. 5'10 is plenty big at that age.

Guess my only question is what do you plan on doing with his college fund?? Cause I don't think you are paying.

looks to be athletic, quick feet, quick release, great arm tough to get a read on if he is a pocket passer with all the designed jv roll outs but once he learns the drops and check downs he looks like he has a future..... the biggest thing is make sure he remains to have the love and passion for the game especially at the QB position

Ur son can spin it!! Get him some exposure by attending and camps. He looks like he would be great in 7 on 7 team. Get him in the weight room. I hope his wish comes true.

Looks like a pretty loaded JV team...got a couple good receivers out there. Its tough to really evaluate anyone as a freshman playing JV but he certainly seems to have natural arm strength and accuracy and seems athletic enough. If he keeps working on his mechanics and in the weight room he could be a good prospect down the road. Like others have said, the most important thing at that age is to not push so hard that he loses his love of the game. best of luck.

Thanks to everyone that posted information. We will try to redo the video using suggestions given. So far he is working on natural ability and some coaching over the last two years, but as mentioned we do want to hit some camps to help him improve. Last year in middle school he was under center and this year he was in the shot gun, so he can adapt to both, but I think with his size and mobility he is better suited for the shot gun. He is a smart kid so I think he can do well under center (as he did last year), but he will need to understand and use his passing lanes.

As of now he really has a passion for football, but I am encouraging him to play other sports as well. He is currently signed up to play intramural basketball and I think he is going to play for the high school jv baseball team. I just don't want him to focus on one thing and get burned out, as it is high school and he should enjoy it. He is working out with the team and I have noticed a difference. He seems very jacked up about working out as he knows it will make him a better player.

JHall.. from you keyboard to gods ears on not paying for college...lol!!

DHC.. The team does have great WR's. The two outside guys are sophomores and they both like UM. #12 John is the fastest player on the team and has great hands. His dad looks to be 6'6" so who knows maybe he will be another Jimmy Graham. Rashad the other outside guy gets very good separation and looks to be explosive. His father played college ball and his brother is currently playing in college, so he has good bloodlines. Our running back #3 is in one word amazing, and our slot man #83 has great hands and speed, so yes my son was blessed to have a lot of talent around him.

Ringz.. I would be proud to see his name with 3 stars one day, and even more proud to have Golden or any UM coach show interest. My son has been a Cane from day one and as mentioned he dreams of playing for or attending the school. We live in Gator, Nole and Dawg country and although he has never seen the great UM teams he has never wavered on his allegiance to his favorite team. Perhaps we can all learn from him in that respect.

Thank you again to all who have posted comments and suggestions. I hope to have more to post next season. Go Canes!

Did you play ball in school? How big are you and the kids mom?

Did you play ball in school? How big are you and the kids mom?

My playing days ended in 5th grade - Miami Lakes optimist. As for size he is bigger than mom and dad already, but we have tall relatives on both sides (6'4/6'5" range). At two years old doctors do height predictions based on a kids current size and we were told he would be around 6'2" He had a good growth spirt last year but not much since. He just turned 15, so he has a few more years to grow we hope.

Its tough man. At 5'10 you **** near have to be all world to get a look. The 6'3 kid with less talent would get the nod 90% of the time. Sucks. Your kids got a ton of potential man. Id be proud.

Thanks pcity, I am very proud of him. The varsity team lost last night so today is the first day in months he did not have practice or games to look forward to in the near future. Instead of taking time off he got up early and ran about 4 miles so he can get stronger for next year. My brother in law is a student at PSU (I know, no jokes please...lol) and is into fitness and nutrition and trains some of the players. He is putting together a plan for Ron for the offseason. I know how Ron is and he will work hard to be the best he can be, but unfortunately you can not teach size, or will yourself to grow. I hope he can get another 4 or 5 inch growth spurt since he is still young, but who knows. His frame has not started to V out so it leads me to think he will grow more. I do agree with you though, at 5'10" it is a tough road.
