- Power formation, power formation, power formation. I'd like to see our running backs get a combined 40+ carries
- Focus on implementing a dink and dunk offense to get SteMo settled early
- Take shots WHEN YOU CAN. Being careful not to be too careless in this department against VagTech's secondary
- Dial up blitzes at the right times to get the most overrated LT of all time on his back and rattle the **** out of him
- Dial up an all out block on at least one of VagTech's punt/field goal attempts (ala last year). Would be nice to see a special teams score

Let's get this **** done. My prediction is 28-14 Canes

I'd like to see us run some "phonebooth" sets like stanford did tonight. Those splits are so tight...those undersized VT line and LB's wont be able to shoot them and we have a similar size advantage like stanford had over Oregon.

Stop it already. Morris cant dink and dunk. He cant throw a ******* screen pass to save his life.

This will be a tight game because he is who he is.

As of this morning (Friday), it looks like it may be windy and rainy for the game tomorrow night. Run game is going to be important. Lets do this!

Conservative on offense, use O'Donnell to flip field position, wait for Logan turnovers

We are UM ****'t, we throw the long ball, It's up to James Coley to get morris back on track!

Go Canes

I predict total predictability. Runs on 1st and 2nd down, 3rd and long, punt. No way we come out and start slinging it around. On the other hand VT gets ball first with a long drive and goes up early...
Still think we win but this **** gonna be ugly

VT's strength is their secondary. No way in **** that we should let a gimpy Morris sling it around. No team has been able to stop our downhill running attack. Run power all night long like Stanford di to Oregon. RB by committee. Play action to Walford, Hagens, an occasional throw to the sideline.

Gameplan?

Offense: Focus on the run, even without Duke. VT is going to try to force us to throw, even without Duke, because of our QB who loves to throw picks. I would still throw it deep and keep their safeties back. I would still throw it to Walford even though he bobbled a bunch.

Defense: Just get pressure, I don't care how. Just get pressure and allow LT to make mistakes.

Run the ball a minimum of 40 times with arounf 20 passes. Limit Morris's reads because Foster will make him think too much and play the field position game.

I actually think that Stanford's game plan against Oregon would be a pretty good model for us going forward. There was a ton of debate prior to the FSU game about the stretch plays that we use, given the size of our OL, and the main reason that the people that supported our use of the stretch plays gave was that Duke was really effective at cutting back and exploding through holes. Now, with Duke out, a more power running game seems like it would make more sense.

When Whipple was here, he used the unbalanced formation a pretty good amount, with Seantrel as a 6th offensive lineman. Why not do that again? Put Flowers, Feliciano, McDermott, Wheeler, Linder and SH out there with Walford, Cleveland/Hagens, and one WR, pound the football with Crawford, Clements and Gus, and go play action every so often and take shots. That would play to our apparent strengths (OL and running game), minimize our weakness (SM decision making), and keep our defense off the field.

offense:
Outside stretch run
counter out of shotgun
comeback routes
deep routes

Defense:
base defense regardless of wr on field
drop 7 every play, cover 3
3rd down bring 3rd down defense
with 4 man line run stunts

VT has a lot of trouble running the ball. I'd be more inclined to use five DB's when they bring in a third receiver. Their RBs and OL are their weak spots.
