Normally VT fans are talking shizz left and right. They drop by my office to ask me what my thoughts on the game are, and we jab each other a little bit. Happens every year.
This year--not so much. I've had one alumnus stop by and say "good luck to you guys tonight", and walk away before I had a chance to respond. None of them are looking me in the eye. No smiles, no banter, no jabs. It's almost as if they don't know there's a game tonight.
What does this mean? To me, it tells me that they're scared. Either that, or 4 losses this season has been enough to take away their nuts. Let's say it's the former though--I think the collective battlecry amongst the VT fans here isn't the usual "Go Hokies", it's more "My Body Is Ready".
I'm decked out in my orange and green here at the office, surrounded by VT fans and alums, and it's all this kind of hushed/muted/uncertain attitude they've got. VERY different from other years. They seem ready, almost accepting, of the ***-whooping we're going to give them tonight. I say we oblige them.
GO CANES!!!!
