Athletes were faster..WR's were bigger..and the number one reason--Jimbo is now the only OC, still calling his own plays from the sideline. Coley is with us , but the FSU offense is now more prolific than under Coley..Mark Stoops is gone replaced by Jeremy Pruitt and the FSU defense is more prolific under Pruitt...Just thinking change is sometimes not a bad thing... Love the Canes, but can't help thinking that Jimbo shedded no tears when Coley came south..

They were better because they recruited better 3 and 4 years ago, and because Jamies the raper is a phenomenal qb.

Exactly, all we ever heard last year was how Coley had no input over the offense and Jimbo called all the plays. FSU gets much better because of Winston, and Miami struggles more than expected on offense, well time to change the story, it all on Coley......
Not saying the guy is awesome, but internet football boards are home to the straw man argument.
 
I'm not saying Coley is a great OC, or will ever be one, but FSU is not better this year because Coley is gone. FSU is not better this year because of anything Jimbo is doing. FSU is better because of the rapist and because Pruitt changed his defensive philosophy after the BC game to a more attacking defense.
 
Negged....I hate FSU and hate **** Winston...but don't act like he is not the best QB in the nation and the clear cut 1st overall pick if he doesn't go to prison for rape.

I remember getting blasted on CS for lamenting their class in comparison to ours in 2010, pretty much everyone thought that their class was way overrated and our was way underrated. Labeled a star *****........
 
Fsu is better on offense because of upgrade on qb play. Better qb allows the OC for more freedom.

Fsu's D is performing better because they are being taught a simpler-attacking scheme than the retarded archaic stuff out players are unfortunately saddled with. Does talent help? For sure. But, you tell me a guy that has never called a game at the college level, never game planned, steps in to be a first year DC and along with a whole new staff, Brings in a whole new D scheme and philosophy and they are gonna have better D numbers in some stats than last year??????

It's because jimbo adapted. He still has talent for the 4-3. But decided to allow these guys to install an attacking one-gap 3-4. Result: simpler read defensive assignments.

They were better because they are better. They have better coaching and better players. It's as simple as that.
