Well It looks like FSU is about to take the VT series, next weekend should be very interesting. I like our chances with Rosario and Mederos going on Friday and Saturday.

Agreed, and with the exception of Jenkins and Petrilli, saw good progress and approach from our bats.

We really need Born or Thomas to start hitting so Jenkins can just be a late inning defensive replacement in CF. Right now, nobody else is hitting well enough to justify taking his glove off the field.

FSU and Gators Tuesday while we are at FGCU on Wednesday.

Garland on the bump Wednesday or Federman move from Sunday?

We'll need early runs and a continuation of the quality starts and respectable defense. Despite their Sunday offensive performance vs VT, their offense has struggled. The coach's kid is the only one over-achieving at this point.

Looks like fsu has a couple of lefties in the rotation.

They're both pretty good. FSU has one of the best rotations in the ACC. They'll be tough.

FSU's weakness is they're ultra passive at the plate, and strike out a lot. If our pitchers throw strikes, we can shut them down.

Agree, hopefully Born can take that spot. He's pretty solid defensively himself and just needs more ABs. Maybe even give Rivera a try in LF and play Lala in CF then use Jenkins for late game subs.

It's tough having two guys in the lineup who are non-factors at the plate. Pitelli is so good defensively and makes our infield so much better that I think you have to keep starting him. As good as Jenkins is I'm not sure he's that much better than our other CF options to keep starting him if he's not even hitting .100.

FSU and Robby Martin stay hot, after taking series from ranked VT on weekend, just beating Nbr 5 Gators tonight 10-2. FSU's R. Martin homers yet again (2 straight games - total of 3 in 2) and is a hot hitter 3 years running - is he the "over-achieving" coach's kid? Seems his Dad is not the same guy as FSU Coach Martin (one is named Robert, one named Mike) from what I see; am I wrong?

Anyway, hope we can cool down FSU & Robby; maybe the rain will help.

The overachiever is Tyler Martin their leadoff hitter, I could be wrong but I don't think he's related to Robby Martin

That's correct - not related. Tyler is their leadoff hitter and son of the current head coach. Lala type but smaller than him, gets on base a lot, plays w a chip on his shoulder, etc. Let's hope they have an emotional letdown after their big UF win.

I’m feeling going good about this weekend’s series. I think we win Fri and Saturday but I’m not a believer in Federman so I think we lose Sunday.
