### Today marks 13 weeks since UM appeared before the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions, and UM is now well outside the window during which a ruling was expected, causing great frustration among school officials.

Remember, UM initially was told that the NCAA was hopeful it would render a decision within 6 to 8 weeks. And the NCAA tells schools that 8 to 12 weeks is a reasonable expectation. But UM has been given no recent update on the timetable or the reason for the delay.

### For those who have asked, if UM gets another bowl ban (and nobody at UM is expecting that), the Hurricanes could still play in a bowl this season by appealing, because a ruling on an appeal takes many, many months. (UCF’s took seven months.) If there’s another bowl ban, UM assuredly would appeal.

### Wisconsin accepted the offer UM declined: to open next season against LSU at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. We have no issue with UM rejecting those overtures because they will be breaking in a new quarterback next season, and you would prefer not to do that against a powerful SEC opponent.
### According to Canesport.com, UM has become the first school to offer 6-2 Lake Christian junior quarterback Christian Alexander, who threw for 28 TDs and six picks last season. But UF is also very interested.

LOL....in Houston at Reliant? Might as well have just played them in New Orleans in the Super Dome

I think I read somewhere, prob on this board, that the revenue split was decidedly in favor of LSU and that is why UM declined the game.

Props to LSU for scheduling a tough ooc opponent to start every season unlike their sec east counterparts.

QB from Lakeland Christian is the real deal.. Probably a Gator though. His HC (Wayne Peace) was starting QB for UF all 4 years he was there.

Yeah but schedules are made a year or two in advance if not more. With how lsu has been known to schedule tough ooc games I would be willing to bet some game must have fallen through that year

Miami shouldve accepted the game.....

Ryan Williams should be poised enough as a **** redshirt Senior to not get rattled against an LSU team that Miami would be better then. And even if its another QB, Miami is going to have a lot of veteran talent on both sides of the ball around him anyway.

terrible excuse smh

They generally don't schedule more than one... UF always has FSU, USCe has Clemson, UGA has GT... LSU on the other hand doesn't have that annual game so they schedule one other 'tough' game to go along with their 3 other cupcakes like everyone else does.

This year... TCU, then you have UAB, Kent St and Furman.
I'm sure next year you can replace TCU with Wisconsin and then replace 3 cupcakes with 3 new cupcakes.
However, thats not much diff than us this year with UF and then USF, FAU, Sav St

Then again it's better than Arkansas's ***** asses LA Lafayette, Samford, Southern Miss, Rutgers
Or Missouri - Toledo, Murray St, Indiana, Arkansas St
Or TAMU -Rice, Sam Houston St, SMU, and UTEP.

I am sure THE U would have accepted home and home 2 game series with them. This is just "neutral site" crap that their fans can walk to and helps their recruiting in TX. I like the idea of Yankee Stadium as "neutral site". If sec scum want to improve stealth of schedule then sign some home and home and stop being so $$$ greedy. Personally, teams playing down here helps their recruiting too much. They should pay us a million to come here and get no return game to their house unless it is in prime recruiting ground we think we can farm.

When we get back on top, we need to use our position better than we have in the past. Need to deny poachers all the access we can to South FL talent.

Al has potential weapon with his camps. They are open to all the non-threat Florida schools. That means access to more scholarships for the kids that come to the camps--not just the big name D1 kids. Most high school coaches and principals care a lot about getting as many kids as possible free rides to college. Al's camps can be gateway for hundreds of them. Nothing wrong with a little subtle inference that kids from Cane coached HSs or Cane friendly HS coaches get preferential treatment at camps could go a long way to getting rid of coaches who push kids to rivals. I am not talking about Cane recruits, I mean the access for the other kids to scholarships for like FAU and such. We are not talking recruiting inducements. Just a little we will help the kids from schools that favor us more than the schools that crap on us get scholarships from other universities.

Grads from other universities should be coaching in the pine trees and swamplands around the school they played football for. Heck, THE U has enough Pro Bowlers to staff SO FL high schools.

That excuse I can deal with, and agree with but the breaking in a new QB thing is horse****.

We are going to be ******* loaded next year.

Exactly i dont want to hear **** about breaking in a new QB.... wtf kind of lame excuse is that.

The fact that Wisconsin accepted the game makes Miami look scared to play LSU..... **** LSU, Miami should be able to destroy them next year, **** we could beat them this year. smh

Back in the day miami could get away with it. Because we were always loaded. A down year was 9-3. So until we can be peg in as a 10+ win team on a consistent basis(IE: Bama, suckeyes, Lsu, etc). Then I dont mind not scheduling these type of games, only to get smash on National tv.

As much we joke on Fswho 9-4 Championship seasons. At least you are going to get atleast 9 wins from them, can we say the same thing about our canes? So why put a "hopeful" 10 win win team out there instead of a "pen in" 10 win team vs "pen in" 10 win team.

I'm ok with the SEC brand of OOC scheduling.

Even though aTm dont have to play UGa, USCe, or Florida.....

Texas aTm scheduled Rice, Sam Houston St, SMU, and Texas El-Paso

aTm's scheduling is a joke.....

Bama's OOC schedule is a joke too

For the record

LSU plays a respectable schedule, TCU and they have to play Florida and UGa out the East, to go along w/ Bama and aTm.

South Carolina, UGa, and Florida play a very respectable OOC schedule on top of having to play each other every year plus either LSU.

LSu didn't make up their schedule. It just so happens to fall on a harder year this year. Next year they play Wisconsin.. to me a middle of the pack Big 10 school. Just like Oregon playing Tenn(middle of the pack) and UVA (bottom of the pack).. It's not like they're playing the top schools often. Lol..
