Freshman OLine Question

Seeing that E Flowers was going to start versus BC made me wonder who (if any) was the last true freshman to start on the OLine for us?

Orlando Franklin I believe. If not him I think Jason Fox started as a true frosh for us.

Art Kehoe has been coaching offensive linemen at the University of Miami for more than a quarter century and recalls “maybe four” true freshmen starting for him.
Push Kehoe to name the four and he can recall only two – center K.C. Jones (1993) and guard Richard Mercier (1995).

I know it was during the lean times, but cot**** at a true Frosh starting Center.

Jason Fox definitely started as a true freshman - against FSU of all teams.

Franklin was a true freshman in listing (maybe) but had a year or two between high school and when he finally was able to get into UM. And did he start the season as a starter or was he a reserve to Bain then take over?

How many starts did Seantrel have his freshman year? I know Jermaine Johnson started at RT at least half the year or so. Can't remember if he kept starting with Seantrel coming in off the bench.

I might be wrong but didn't Henderson play TE? I thought that 2010 was the year they ran that crazy formation with Henderson lining up next to a right tackle.

Yes but that was just an unbalanced set. He wasn't playing TE.
