The Bunch Formation. It's been a bit since we see this consistently here, but we've briefly discussed how it might be used. Let's take a quick look. So many different things we can do out of it and with so many different personnel groupings. Specifically, the 12 personnel (2 TEs) we've all talked so much about.
Use it in the run game to dictate line balance, have WRs angling in for the traditional crackbacks, while potentially getting their CBs (hey, Henderson) into physical battles with our OL and RBs (e.g. tosses):
Use it for 3rd and medium:
Get the matchups you want inside the Redzone:
Get a guy like Henderson, with his long arms, off the LOS and peeking into the backfield for a double move:
An accurate passer like Williams also has his reads simplified here and needs to simply hit guys in stride. Yes, some of these require longer drops than others, which means OL will have to hold up in those few instances, but you can also use chips, 3-step drops, etc. Lot of options from this flexible formation.
Yeah, I'm pumped. Nothing I can do about it now. 4 days.
