OC coley sucks, please tell me one area of the passing game that Morris excels at beside throwing the ball 60 yards down field. Even though after tonight that is in question as well.

I like him for recruiting, but he is on over his head. Why do u think Jimbo would not let him call plays at FSU. But, I will take his Miami connections for recruiting. Yearby would be going to FSU net year without Coley.

Because Dumbo is a micromanager and an offensive guy! I did like the way he got in Jamis's face when he ***ked up! Anybody else hate how Morris gets coddled? Tells you right there he is a mental midget!

Jimbo still calls the plays now. Does he think his new OC is in over his head too or does he just prefer to call the plays himself?

My guess is the latter..

That's not what I asked. Ppl say Coley is holding back the offense. So I want to know what areas of the passing game is Morris good at, that We aren't using?

Im definitely concerned with coach Coley but Ive never been sold on Morris either. Coach Coley does have a resume that is very suspect for the position he has. $500K salary for a guy with one year of D1 play calling experience. He's made a career out of being a recruiter. One of the best salesmen in the game today. As a playcaller, he's learning on the job. I'll break down my concerns into two areas:

1) Play calling.

* I see too many stretch run plays in general but specifically too many to the short side of the field. I just dont get that.
* Roll outs to the short side of the field.
* absolute refusal to use the middle of the field. How many times did we see Walford outside of the hashmarks? as one poster noted, our offense if like a letter V (as viewed from the offensive backfield) We only attack outside of that V.

2) Player personnel / packages.

* Duke Johnson is way over-used. Coley is destroying that kid. We need to use other backs EARLY IN THE GAME. Let Other backs pound linebackers when they're fresh. It increases the likelihood of Duke busting one late.
* Duke Johnson in a one back set on 4th and short is incompetent. Where the **** are Mo Hagens and/or Walter Tucker?? Put them both on the field at the same time on 4th and short.

I agree on the Duke thing. I know Crawford looked good against UNC but there is a drop off there. Of course it's two fold how can DC get better without reps.

I don't care what is said in the media. This staff does not trust Morris to throw into the teeth of the defense. It's hard to get into your playbook when u can't convert 3rd downs.

I would like to see more personnel groups also.

We do get a little cute with the stretch runs but when I see guys losing 1-on-1st it's hard to lay everything on the OC.

If Morris connects on his bomb to Coley that play action looks genius. When he doesn't we say why didn't he hand the ball of.

Man, after Duke, our other RB, aren't doing ****. Unless we play FAU, Savannah St, USF, and UNC every week.

I thought we should have abused the standard downhill power sets. Those plays were working yet for some reason we mixed east/west looks.

Coley is limited because Morris lacks touch and subtlety. Once we have a quarterback who can take a failed design and rescue the play, everything will flow like gravy. The most representative play of Morris' shortcomings today was 3rd and 8 in the first half. Morris dropped back and winged it mindlessly out of bounds to the right, even though the coverage was excellent and our receiver was stumbling around. Winston could salvage that play any number of ways but it never even occurs to Morris. He's content to trot to the sideline and chew on his mouthpiece.

I was the one who mentioned the V offense. There were a few more plays inside the V today, particularly early, but then we got back into the rut.

Let's get this straight. Morris sucked balls last year with Fisch too, he just played three pretty good games against garbage teams to up his stats and increase his hype entering the year. The "after the fact" questioning of play calling gets ******* ridiculous. We converted quite a few short yardage plays today too. We missed a TON of opportunities that we choked away. Those aren't on the OC.

1. We had a ton of success running the infamous "stretch" play I always hear you pinheads ***** about. It's a staple of our offense and we're going to use it. It isn't going to work every god **** time.

2. We used the middle of the field today. Not as much as Bay would apparently like, unfortunately Morris threw a pick there late. It's Morris not Coley. The plays are designed to utilize the WHOLE field, I ******* guarantee it.

3. Duke is over used? WTF do you want to do? He is the best player on our team and when he isn't in, unfortunately, we have a drop off. You might want to hold him out till the 3rd or 4th for the knock out punch but I got some news for you. If we hold Duke back till late.....chances are we are ******* already out of the game. Would it be nice...yeah but we don't have that luxury right now.
