2020 DT Manny Rogers's Jenson Beach head coach can shuttle him to Bama but can't make it to coral gables, man that's some BS. He wants to get his player exposure and yet Miami is right down the road but no push your rising star north.
Rogers already has offers from some of the top schools in the SEC, ACC and Big Ten, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Penn State.
"Like I said before, the only ones he didn’t have, that would be major offers, are Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson," Jensen Beach coach Tim Caffey said. "Now he has Georgia. That puts him at a different level.
"I’m due to take him on (June) 8th to Alabama. I don’t know for sure, but I don’t see how he doesn’t come away with an offer."
What separates Rogers from many other recruits is so few coaches have actually seen him. Since he never stepped on a football field until late July, this spring is the first opportunity they've had to see Rogers, who had focused on basketball until this school year.
"Every coach that gets a chance to eyeball him or watch film, for lack of a better word, they’re in awe," Caffey said. "They kind of have the same thoughts — that he’s a hidden gem. There’s a 'Wow' factor involved. He’s so big and raw and athletic. South Florida defensive kids have a different body structure than a Manny or (Sebastian River defensive tackle) Timmy Smith."
Caffey said Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott was most impressed by Rogers' frame and potential.
"Coach was just raving about him," Caffey said. "He's a defensive tackle that can run and is athletic. He doesn't have a lot of habits they have to unteach. A lot of people like the rawness about him and they're in awe of his size.".......
