I'm not crazy about the heavy shotgun tendencies we've seen this year, but it's hard to argue with the results between the 20s (though I think we'll struggle against fast defenses if we can't run right at them).

However, the playcalling in the red zone has been maddening. We're not finishing drives. Some of that is on Morris, but the margin for error on shotgun 4-wide formations in tight spaces is slim. I thought the screen pass to James was a brilliant call, but otherwise our red zone passing has been spotty. I think we can be more physical and utilize the TEs more in the red zone.

Screens and angle routes by the RB's have worked in the past. Walford can catch a jump ball. Duke can score from anywhere. We shouldn't be having such a difficult time.

i hate going heavy down there, unless it's at the one ydline. would rather it be spread out. the playcalling is the issue, not the sets

Morris is at fault for plenty of it. He missed Scott and Davon Johnson on two consecutive plays before the Wieclaw missed the fg. Both were open. Morris missed Davon Johnson against BCC as well. Thats two TDs off the top of my head that had nothing to do with play calling

This.

The playcalling has been off at times but there have been plenty of plays that would have looked great if Morris had made a decent throw.
