Just got back from the game...
-- spoke to DJ's high school coach for awhile. Said that DJ and his Dad hated the USC visit. Said DJ wanted to commit at Paradise camp but his Dad made him hold off alittle bit. Said he had a good convo with DJ about committing prior to doing it because he didn't want him playing games or committing and decommitting. Said hes fully locked in with Miami and they're excited for there visit coming up.
-- spoke to Odogwu's former high school coach and he praised the job that Miami has done to get him to wheres hes at now as a football player. Said when he came to his HS from Africa he literally knew absolutely nothing about football. He said Urban Meyer made a last minute push for him but his coaches told him he was a way better fit at Miami since he needed time to progress as a player. He also said they have talked about him finishing up elsewhere for his 5th yr since he has already graduated. They are worried that he is going to get passed up for PT.
-- joked around w/ Al Blades for alittle bit because I was wearing a Miami polo and he came up and said I need to shake your hand twice for repping The U. A bunch of other 2018's kept asking when he was gonna commit again and he said I am a Miami commit. They then took out a phone and told him to announce it on snap chat then which he obvi didnt do. Younger Cook told me "yall are gonna have to deal with me for four yrs next". Blades also then was saying Surtain's coming to Miami too. This was all in fun so who knows...
-- burns looked to be moving around fine on the sidelines. My guess is Miami coaches told him not to play in the game, but who knows.
-- after the game I talked to DJ for a few while they were announcing the MVP, and he said we got a good shot with Jeff Thomas. Said he reminded him of himself by the way he rlly likes Miami even though hes not from there.
