Fong Bomb to ND??
Quinn has been skewered too much on this board.I agree with this. I think people are too tough on Ewers, he’s an excellent QB and game manager. I’m not sure his price tag makes sense for us, at least the one floated around. Beck is more of a well known commodity compared to Mendoza based off his ‘23 season, but he struggled big time this year and the injury could mean missing meaningful reps in the spring with a new scheme.
Take money out of it, I would clearly take Ewers over Mendoza. Beck/Mendoza I don’t see a clear difference, but I think Mendoza presents a better opportunity for Mario to sell development and continuity to potential recruits. Obviously the price tag puts a different spin on things, but I wouldn’t overspend this cycle.
I remember that game. I was on the sidelines as an assistant. Yea we were on the RE1 yard line and ran out of time before the half or we would have taken the lead. How do I remember this stuff?
Ewers
Sawyer
Beck
Becht
Mendoza
Avery
Hoover
Sayin
Noland
Believe so. His dad applied for WVU job, but Rich Rod took that. That was only place I could have seen him going.Didn’t Becht put something out saying he wasn’t going anywhere? Obviously just his word but I don’t think he’s hitting the portal.
I am not a PlayStation All-American. Have you played CFB ‘25?It's not about the "school" whiffing, it's more about how MULTIPLE CFP teams are recruiting Mendoza, while the PlayStation All-Americans of CIS are swearing that Mendoza is terrible and inferior to a UM backup QB who has played in 1.95 games previously.
As for Karnley, can you show us the threads filled with anti-Karnley hatred? I don't think anyone on CIS has said that UM should pass on him.
But “there hasn’t been smoke “? Like I said over the weekend “ you don’t need smoke for something to be going on”.
Yea and that had a RB named DadaI know, right. I remember the Dade Christian coach at that time was Don McNeal, the former Dolphins DB from the 80s.
Did he pick up speed ?It's often overlooked but how good was Cam Ward for Emory's development. Cam seems like a film junkie and I find it hard to believe that TVD took Emory under his wing for film study if TVD was a film junkie at all.. maybe the staff has seen a massive progression from Emory from being under Cam. I hope whatever qb we get is a film junkie and smart enough to understand the coverage breakdowns and route concepts. I hope they also have a business mindset to take advantage for their career and bring young Nickel up to speed as a field general. Even if we lose a few games we may win big later.
You DID say that.**** ya’lll!!!!
I am the only one here who said he’s Brock Purdy so I had him being better than a Georgia QB!
Yea and that had a RB named Dada
If we’re really not making any type of pitch to Mendoza (which would be surprising to me), then we really are going for Ewers or someone else not yet in the portal.
Yep. I posted the same thing last week. Even though he’s gonna be buns there.Ewers is going to the nfl
RobertsonIt seems Mendoza stock and public perception has raised a lot since Arnold, Moss, Mensah, etc have dropped off the board.
His 44 sacks (#1 in the country) with his average time to throw being 2.5 seconds...scares me and gives me reason to pause. I'd have to look way deeper into this (is he missing open reads, are his wrs so bad they are never open?, etc).
Mendoza isn't high up there on my list, but if the option is blindly trusting Emory, then you absolutely take Mendoza.
I am curious, how would yall rank these random qbs for Miami?
Mendoza
Ewers
Beck
Avery Johnson
Rocco Becht
Julian Sayin
Air Noland
Josh Hoover
Sawyer Robertson
