Look, I don't deny the critical issues affecting UM's football program… I don't. Rookie poster, but long time lurker and Born-in-Dade fan, so before the name calling commences, bear w/ me…
Yes. I was feelin' AG from day 1 (RS too, Cane pedigree, but not half as long w/ his silent-sideline treatment)… & still think he has the goods --the approach, knowledge AND the face (yea, I said it)-- to deliver. But no one in their right mind can deny the many missteps: Fatally-flawed schemes, poor preparation, recruiting misses, Goldengate-- and maybe worst of all the Excuses.
But MAYBE he's not a businessman… MAYBE he's a Business, man.
From what I know of Corporate America, mistakes are only mistakes if you acknowledge them as such. Not calling a miss a "miss", doesn't mean it wasn't one, but doesn't mean you can't learn from it and make the adjustment either. Also, acknowledging a miss does not always correlate to a hit (i.e. 2 wrongs don't = right). Perhaps "lessons" is a BS, more PC word.
To that point, I don't know that publicly calling out coaches, sub-par seniors, or going into detail about your dream-job considerations does anything for morale/recruiting going forward. --As much as WE might have appreciated the voiced accountability.
In balancing the scale: Frustrations over not beating FSU when they are who they are right now, and losing to Duke when they were who they were this year, and the like, are just not as relevant to HIS success as they might FEEL. Similarly, lack of attention to the offense's non-existent drives all year long and its effect on defense, the impact of injuries and our mounting frustration as a fan base fiending for more Nat'l Championships, all play into a need for answers. No, I'm not making excuses. DEFENSE wins CHAMPIONSHIPS. I'm just explaining my POV while agreeing with most that: If there IS someone to blame, it's the CEO, and that THIS year is THE year to make something happen.
But this is not Sh*tty Card or ***** of America, and I do have something invested in this…
But "I'm just surrounded by a room of people who wanna go in there and kill him… This is the guy you called your friend… I wonder why that is."
I've said it before and I'll say it again, drastic times require drastic measures.
I'm not betting on a "GoldenEra" or "Everlasting-Mediocrity" either, because I don't need to be "Right." I'm not picking sides or making excuses or *Predicting Failure*. Because with or w/out Golden, or any one teenage kid's participation, I'll still rep the U. Canes fans catch a lot of heat for "living in the past" and maybe that's more true than it needs to be --Not just by pining for another RING (I got no problem w/ that) but for b*itching about what happened yesterday and missing what could've happened today.
I will update my opinions as events unfold and change 'em, as each of you are entitled to do. But I will face what comes like I think a BADASS, storied program and its fans should.
DANGER is real… very real, and worth critical consideration… but FEAR is a choice.
As real as danger, I think MOMENTUM, "Juice", is very real. So as a fan & yea, as an individual, FEAR is just not a choice I'm willing to make.

Now that I've said my piece:
