Favorite Miami-FSU game?

I'm sick of all the doom and gloom threads and posts, so how about going back into the past to remember some of the great games. There are the obvious ones, like the Wide Rights and Left, but my favorite was 1994. Miami was #13, FSU was #2 or #3 and FSU was favored in the Orange Bowl. Miami had lost to Washington, breaking the streak 2 weeks before, and no one really gave Miami a chance. It was a game of turnovers, and CJ Richardson had an INT when FSU was driving up 14-7 that turned the game. The loudest I've ever heard the OB (and I was at Miami-ND in 1989) was when Carlos Jones picked off a Danny Kannell pass and returned it for a TD and a 31-17 lead. Miami went on to win 34-20. Derrick Brooks must have jumped offsides 5 times with Costa's hard count, and after one of them he just held his head in his hands like he was crying.

Others that often don't get mentioned, 1985, down 24-14 on the road, Miami wins 35-27 behind a great 4th quarter by Vinny. 1986, down 23-21 to FSU at home, Vinny again goes crazy in the 4th for a 41-23 Miami win. 1983, Kosar drives Miami down the field, trailing 16-14, to set up the winning FG in a 17-16 win that put us in the OB against #1 Nebraska and set us up to win our first national title. Another great one was 1990. Miami already had a loss, and FSU came in #2. Miami ran for over 300 yards, going up 24-0 and holding on for a 31-22 win.

yeah, well, the experience of those teams was matched and they seniority played out well in already knowing HOW to come back and win.

This team has under-capable DL right now and that is the thing every one exploits.

When teams come in knowing they can rush for 300 without batting an eyelash?

Yer already done. We might only win 2 more games this year. Bring on the bowl ban....again.

How about you take your whining and complaining to another thread? How hard is it to not complain in one thread? If you want to do that, why even bother posting in here?

All that have been mentioned were great. Personal favorites are:

88: #1 FSU talking all that **** gets hammered.

91: wide right 1. #2 Miami @ #1 FSU, the build up to that game was incredible

92: Gino to Lamar. Epic.

94: as someone already said, C-Jones to house was crazy

00: we were back

One that hasn't been mentioned that is great is 2003: Sean Taylor just purely dominant from the safety spot. Not many gave us a chance.

Also, at the time, I was pumped after the '09 win.

I think we were #3 and they were #4 at the time but the teams finished 1 and 2. Great game, great talent on the field, great ending...one of the GOAT in UM history. Only drawback from the game was losing Donald Ellis; tore his knee on one of the final plays and was never the same.

Funny the dumb things you remember growing up. My older bro had just moved out and stole this SI:

Side note: I think this game alone made Sammy Smith millions. He was a horse that day...and then he became a Dolphin....Sammy sux!

Confession, I DVR'd that game and rewatched it probably 100 times. I was so sure we were on our way back.

we were all bathing in the kool aid after that game.

Yea, but I went pretty overboard with it. It got to the point that I had basically memorized **** near every snap. I finally deleted it from my DVR after the loss to Wisconsin at the Champs Sports Bowl.

'83 was as tense as I've ever been late in a Canes game. I knew we had a big shot against Nebraska if we could somehow get there. No guarantee anything happens down the road if we blow that FSU game.
