Fast paced offense not good for our young defense

If I'm Golden I'd reconsider the fast paced up tempo offense considering what we witnessed yesterday.
Seems like they misjudged what they had on defense and therefore thought the fast offense would have no effect on them. But it did.
This defense needs to stay off the field as much as possible at least early on. The best way to do that is to slow the offense down at regular pace. It's not like this offense needs to go no huddle in order to move the ball. They don't. We have enough weapons and a good OL to march down the field methodically.
I'd go no huddle once in awhile to keep opposing defenses off balance but not as our main staple.

They were one of slowest offenses in the nation last year in pace. Ran very few plays and it hurt the offense in tempo and didn't help the defense at all.

The OL didn't help them march down the field methodically last year. It was alot of hoping for Lamar, Trav or Streeter to bust one big.

The defense's problems begin and largely end with the d-line. Scoring too many points on offense is hardly a bad thing.

It is a rebuilding year for us if anything the extra work on the d-line and extra snaps for our secondary will be a good thing for years to come. Our DL is weak and our secondary is figuring out this zone thing. They just need more snaps, and we need better players on the line.

**** that. Go Green Bay Packers on teams if we have to.

What is this, 1912?

I'm not messing with **** after a 40+ point performance against a conf team on the road.

Keep the O-attack going... nothing wrong with points. There will be a game or three where D and/or Special Teams win it for us. Thank God for coaching that understands where we are, what we're doing, and where we're going. Proud to be.....

We went on long drives though. I don't think we "scored too quick" to rest our defense.
