How can we, 10 games into the season see our defense not improve 1 iota and face it...they have gotten worse. If I remember Spring and Fall our defense was going to be disruptive and awesome yet no improvement? I know, other teams learn from our weaknesses and exploit them. That is why we have coaches that are SUPPOSED to correct the flaws. All facets of the defense is playing subpar. No standouts on the squad, no big hitters, no one dominating opposing offenses. How can that be with the dominate recruiting we've seen. Bain ain't dominating so who can and will?
I remember when Dennis was coach and we were facing an fsu team that had a great OL but no depth. He used EVERY tool in his shed especially on the DL and flat wore out fsu. Other games I remember with Butch our opponent was defending well against our running game so he used the depth in the RB room (comparable to today) and wore the defense out. We used just Damien and Fletch while our speedsters watched, at least Ajay deserved a shot. We cannot advance unless we have MORE then Cam..he is great but he is human and it is to much to expect he will win the next two games without using more tools.
Opponents know exactly what our flaws are and will exploit them unless our coaching staff makes adjustments. Don't hate me for this but Manny played better defense with less and Warren Sapp has a bad Colorado DL dominating. I will not be surprised if we lose or come close to losing the next two games against far inferior talent unless our coaches get smart. Maybe they should have a players only meeting before EVERY game. Don't be surprised if we end up 9-3 and in a toilet bowl game. Depends on if the coaches wake up and if this team plays angry! I really want, hope amd pray for two more regular season victories and at least one a dominating no doubt victory! GO CANES!
