I hadn't checked the kid out and like the rest of you was not excited, but I just watched 40 hours of film on this kid (Jaworski impression). I came away very impressed and quite frankly excited about this kid! He has size 6'6", can identify the open man quickly, is very mobile surprisingly, can throw on the run "accurately" and is very accurate on his throws. Guys we may have stumbled onto something here. Remember a lot of these so called top QB's turn out to be less than spectacular and some even suck. I think this kid will turn some heads.

The last few top rated QBs bombed. I trust Coley's evals over ESPN and Rivals any day.

The kid would be a 4* if he didn't play behind his brother who was a stud, and is a dual threat qb at another D1 (showing than Evan also has athleticism, its in the family) and he suffered from injuries.

I like the fact that he has the smarts, could have gone to and Ivy League school, he has the size, and actually throws a good ball with great accuracy and solid arm strength that will continue to improve. The kid reminds me of Ryan Williams out of HS, except with a higher ceiling imo

he better be good because Mr. Rosier may be the next David Thompson in terms of sticking to baseball

i agree with everything you said beside him being a 4 star. i think him being a 3 star is right. in his film. he does not even scan the defense what so ever. so by seeing that on his film it takes away a star for me. if your a 4 star i expect you too come in like Kayaa which he did show the ability to read defenses even a stout defense like Serra was.

But you can't deny that he would have been a higher rated and more highly recruited 3* had he been a 3 year starter. As far as reading a defense that's where his smarts come in. If all goes as planned he won't be playing until he is at least in his 3rd year at Miami, by then he should be a film expert and be able to read a defense.

Most overhyped QB prospect on cane sites I have ever seen. He is the only kid on his team to get any scholarship offers. No one else got an offer, no one. They won almost all of their games by scores that average about 42-14. This tells me the level of competition is garbage. He performed well in a post season all star game. But remember these all star games restrict blitzing limit zone coverage and basically are set up as offensive exhibitions. My bet is that he is a benefit in the film room (very smart kid) but never sees the field unless in a grey crow type mop up duty.

I think the Williams comparison is more appropriate than Crow. Nothing wrong with that if you ask me because no 2016 QB will run away like Lawson did.

Yes he was Corey's pick on the last day possible after the others said no. Don't know what the fascination is by some fans with this kid. Hope he does awesome, but there's a reason he was offered by no one and looks like he has a hitch on his motion

Ecush, if u think this kid is the most overhyped QB recruit on a cane sight, then my friend, u haven't been around here long, lol. U ever hear of Kyle Wright? How about Jacory Harris? Trust me, there have been more.

He played in the toughest aaa region in the state of Georgia.

That I didn't know.

As for the Gray Crow comparison, there's nothing similar about the two. I've personally never seen us offer a QB recruit with worse film than Crow. Even in a camp video, he was horrible. I kept hearing project back then, said he'd never play a meaningful snap here, and so far that's held true.

Regarding Sheriffs, he doesn't look bad at all. He has a very impressive TD to INT ratio unlike our verbally committed QB for '16. Highlights are great and all, but most people look good in them....thus highlight. In that regard, he looks as good as pretty much the rest of our commits the last decade.

Kid honestly reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger when he was at Miami... of Ohio. The guy no one heard of until he blew up. But I see Sheriffs as a quality backup with Allison coming.

I never intended to compare their skill sets, only that Crow has taken snaps at Miami but only against Savannah State when we were winning by 70.

Yes those guys were overhyped, but they started football games and threw some tds. This kid will never see the field.
