May be a few days late on this one, but thought I'd bring it up. Was very impressed with the ESPN3 announcers for the SSU game. The Color guy especially was incredibly well prepared about both teams. I am very critical of announcers and have in the past muted the game to listen to our student announcers on WVUM. Pasch was horrible on the UF game, so thought I'd give the 2 guys credit the other night. Very prepared and knowledgeable, well done.

Corey Chavous is a smart guy...I don't think they were exceptional but I also realize that with an ESPN3 game comes the D-list producers/fact checkers/crew, so for Chavous to be even decent despite that handicap is impressive.

Corey Chavous is excellent and he does a great job covering the draft each year.

Corey is right there with Mayock when it comes to breaking down the finer points of technique.

Corey Chavous, ex NFL player also runs a site for small school NCAA players and scouts them. Knows his stuff about Savannah St, and the other dude was from the south Florida area.

I was really surprised at how good the color commentator was as well considering the level of the game.

Thought his comment about Coley (WR) potentially being the missing link the Canes need to get over the top was insightful as well.

The sideline chick kept messing up. She seemed a bit nervous. She was fine though.

Oh forgot that part, she was horrible, really bad, but not a big deal. Just thoroughly impressed with Chavous, really should be getting much bigger games on the main networks IMO

Chavous is top notch. That dude will rise up the ranks very quickly if this is the job he wants to stick with. He was more prepared than any color guy I've listened to.

yup he was impressive and he knows his stuff especially during the draft. I remember when he was playing for the Vikings he would do mock drafts every year and break down every prospect better than Mel Kiper..

I knew we had a good crew when that dude was drawing analogies of a formation we were running to West Texas A&M's playbook.

That guy Corey Chavous is better then the normal ESPN crew all day..... he new things about this team that you really had to "research" and get prepared for to know.

The other guy.... i'm not sure his name did very good too.

When he started calling Gus "The Bus" i was wondering if he was someone on this site or something.

Chavous was like "where you get the name The Bus from???"..... he thought he made it up.

Chavous was referencing plays from late in the FAU game for back up players. Dude loves the game.

He also had Reggie McNeal as the #1 player in the draft though, so, yea.

FIFY...

Drew Fellios is from Tampa. Went to high school with him. He ended up going to FSU for college. Drew also does high school games for Brighthouse Sports Network (channel 47, Tampa) as well.

Now that you mention it, yeah they did an excellent job. When I lived in NY I knew several on screen reporters and there were a few sportscasters as well - they were good and it all comes from preparation and knowing your business. Hope these guys move up the ranks.

If he was as good as you guys say, he wont be on the D team very long. But ESPN has an unusually bad dropoff from the "A/B" teams. Back in the day, if Keith Jackson and Bob Griese werent doing your game, you knew that the B team wasnt going to be awful. Small dropoff. Now the "B" team for ABC is sometimes unbearable. I'm sure their quality control team is doing their homework.

Chavous was an animal. Very informed guy and presented his info and viewpoint in a clean, descriptive way. Definitely knew his ****.

Also delivered the world's greatest line when discussing Gus: "When you're a guy like Gus, who's just naturally a little bit erect..."

Ha, classic Chav Dog.
