Hard to go against Ed. Great season ending in NC. Maryland had fantastic year winning all awards and first pick in the NFL draft but NC came year before, and since this is THE U, that matters so Ed wins. Sapp, well great year but ended it losing to NE and allowing them to win NC in the OB. Not even close. Willis' year was unbelievable, but unfortunately also ended in defeat(not his fault) but I have trouble considering something greatest year when it ends in defeat and no NC. This is THE U and the NC is the measuring stick.

Gotta go with great Mr Reed. But if we wasn't cheated in 02,id give it to McGahee

Sapp was freakishly dominant. Finished 6th in the Heisman voting as a Junior.

Sean Taylor 2003 - 10 INT's, 3 TD's

So many to choose from....

I love Ed Reed. But Willis final season was also I believe the second most productive season by a running back in history. He was unbelievable that year. Had his knee not been taken out in the Fiesta Bowl I know we win that game in regulation.

Too much recency bias across all the rankings.

SMH at davis over jim brown.

Charlie ward > Winston is wrong, IMO.

Some great seasons on that list.

IMO S. taylor was more dominant and impactful than reed in their best uM seasons. Good argument for mcgahee, but what about our Heisman and near-heisman qb years? Bigger impacts than willis.

Not sure about cam newton over bo.

Its really tough to match up a D lineman against an offensive player. The offensive player will have better stats to draw from. That said, Jerome Brown in 86 or Sapp in 94 were perhaps the most dominant individual players Ive ever seen in my lifetime.

Oh and laugh at notre dame having to go back to 1946 for their pick.

manti t'eo being on the nd top 3 list was actually hilarious. Maybe the dumbest selection on the entire list.

Taylor in 2003 was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread. Every game was his highlight tape. Him not winning the Thorpe was ridiculous.
