Enjoying the process

I was looking at the rankings and I have a question. Why is it that all the other elite kids that are committed to their schools are still enjoying the process while our elite targets don’t commit to us because “I just want to enjoy the process”?
Haselwood was enjoying the process and came to paradise. Other kids committed to schools are taking visits and doing the same.
Last year most of our top targets were committed and they visited schools and enjoyed the process. Bogle and now Neal are starting to feal like they ain’t coming. Ryque sounding like he sleeps in UGa pj’s.

I mean look at Chaney jr. The ammount of attention we’ve given this kid is exactly what you would want to see from our staff.
But he stops saying we lead cause he wants to “enjoy the process”. I mean I’m not asking for a commitment from a “21 kid. But what in the world would stop him from enjoying the recruiting process by naming us his leader?
I know this time Last year bama was ranked way low cause they didn’t have a lot of commits. But this year they ain’t playing that game and are neck and neck with uga.
I’m not worried about finishing top 5 or anything. I just would like at least a few of our 5 star targets like Neal to commit and set the tone for this class.
We keep making excuses for these kids while not seeing the writing on the wall.
The other excuse is that the kids are waiting to see how our season turns out. Well what exactly does that mean. Are they waiting for us to make the playoffs? What if we lose to FSU win every game but not make the acc championship?
What if we kill FSU but lose 2 games.
Is Neal waiting for bama not to make the playoffs? Is he really not going to go to bama If they lose to auburn again?
I applaud the staff for going after the kids that seem to have high upside. We lose a lot of kids that ball because no one takes the time to properly evaluate them. But it’s starting to look like we’re doing it cause we have to and not because we want to.

I still feel like we have an awesome class and the staff is working hard to get the remaining kids. But we have to start calling BS when we see it.

This was the case for us with a lot of our commits last year during the summer when we were all sweating keeping the class together.

This cycle, its been reported, the staff has been encouraging targets to take visits and not commit until they're ready. Also, a lot of our top targets this cycle seem to be kids who really seem to "enjoy the process" and most if not all of the kids currently committed seem to be solid.

This could be a coincidence or by design or both. It's going to be annoying either way though. This is recruiting.

The problem we are now in a Generation of Front Running kids. They want to see who makes the playoffs, who signs where, who is going to have the biggest financial plan, and who is leaving or staying for the fastest route to starting time.

Kids aren't built like how we was built anymore.

I understand. But it doesn’t explain why like 80% of the top 150 kids ar committed.

Your right but I would want to see a positional breakdown.

Usually its Offensive players that commit early while defensive players like to play the game.

You honestly sound like a 10 year old girl/haven't been following recruiting very long:

- Nesta was "flirting" with UF all the way through signing day, despite that being total bs
- Ahmmon Richards dragged his recruitment out all the way up until NSD, even though he was a near lock to sign with us
- Chad Thomas was a Miami lean pretty much the entire recruiting process and there were still a ton of ppl pegging him to Alabama right before his signing ceremony

It goes on and on.

1. Nesta wasnt going anywhere
2. Ahmmon decommitted after Golden was fired, thank God he already had relationships with Richt and Dugans or he would be at Bama.
3. Thomas was all Bama until he made the visit, plus the Miami music scene helped a ton.

3 dudes for 3 different cycles doesn’t exactly make it the norm.
A bunch of highly rated players already committed to multiple teams this cycle. And some schools with multiple blue chip commits.
I’m pointing out the obvious and asking a question.

Ya this class seems different than last year. But as long as we have a good year we should be fine. I believe we have a better year than last year! I dont see what these kids dont see we were short on depth an our qb was struggling down the stretch with 2 of his top targets an Walton being down i think Walton and Herdon were Leaders on offence this year we'll have others step up. Only team i see ****** with us is Clemson! Theres no reason these kids should have any mpre worries about us being a top team every year! We have done nothing but get better! One thing i will say about these kids is if they love Miami there hime team they should be the ones to step up and say ya we coming commit help us recruit its bs this isn't happening riq should be commited on Battles *** about how we comin! Neal should be commited an is hes such good friends with the Tackle from West Virgina he should be in his ***! Thats how you lead thats how u make Miami great again! Nesta last year if he knew he wanted to make the crib great he shouldnt have been the only one to nkt be on board last December no disrespect love him so glad he's here just saying! We are getting kids i love cause they want to be Canes and these kids can leave all they want we are coming no matter what!!!! You are correct OP very correct! We have done everything we can! We shouldnt have lost to Pitt and Wis and the cancelled game we should have been a 13-1 team last year! If they cant see that and that we are going to finish this year aint nothing else we can do! Just keep winning and stacking! Seems like we are missing out on all the big dawgs this cycle which our 18' class was stacked on O so we good lol all this said i think we are good cant get them all. After this season we will be fine were going to have a good year not worries about high school kids thats 6'7 years from there senior year lol Today right now we good! Bout to smash LSU! Go Canes

Yeah, no. It is actually worse if they are committed to us and still "enjoying the process" similar to how Haselwood is doing for Georgia. While Nesta worked out for us last year, just remember Jobe or Scarlett. It is even worse when a guy says he is committed to us, but really is just using you as a placeholder and fall back. If you are not going to really committ, don't do a verbal pledge, it is just going to be worse in the end when that person signs with another team.

I'd 'Enjoy the Process' if I was a 16-18 yo kid with the world at my fingertips. Just be honest and respectful.

He wanted to be able to take the OV with his boys from AH

You are also have to factor in the negative recruiting

I know for a fact Clem$on, BAGA, and U$A all have told Darnell that last year was a Fluke season for Miami and Richt cant win Big games. Little do they knew he only needs to visit 1 time.

And thats why (just the Neal situation) Neal should commit and be in Wrights ear letting him know were coming and our man weakness is not having Tackles look at this year have to move around Tyree and Donaldson they can come here an start 40 games together an get in the leaugue! We need that leadership from a couple of these Elite kids.
