I had a family crisis over the holidays so I didn't watch as much football as I normally would have but I saw enough to be totally embarrassed by the football we displayed on national television.
I am not going in to X's and O's or who to blame here just relating what I saw with my own eyes.
Our football program is a piece of crap. I am comparing what I watched of the Russel Bowl and the Chik Fil A Bowl which I was able to watch most of and then highlights of the New Years Day bowls.
The football product that UM put on the field doesn't come close to being a good football team. I don't want to hear about talent or injured players. We are plodding, unprepared, poorly coached, unimaginative, and it appears we are just plain stupid if we think that we are playing anything but high school level football.
Forget about crying over how we lost to Duke. We couldn't beat Duke if we played them 10 more times. Louisville,Central Florida, Michigan State, Stanford, the list goes on and on of well coached exciting teams. We couldn't sniff the top 25 and that is a total disgrace.
I'm sick of watching our offense and defense looking to the sideline like a bunch of morons. Our offense and defense are in slow motion and that is totally on the coaching staff. We are unprepared to play all the time.
Take off the orange and green glasses and quit making excuses for a bad football program. If Al Golden and his staff can sit down and watch video of our team and compare them to some of the teams I mentioned without realizing how bad we are then they need to find another day job.
Sorry for the New Years rant but I refuse to watch our team play anymore crap football. I don't know how any recruit would even consider us after that last horrific performance. You are entitled to your own opinions but I don't know how any fan of UM football can't see the same things I'm seeing and want immediate changes.
If we don't have the talent, dumb it down for the talent we have and coach them up and give them a game plan to help them succeed. These kids don't lack in desire or effort but they are not getting the support they need. We have enough talent to be competitive and we are not.
