OT is a Golden 'coal shoveler', just a guy who gets all the small things done and plays his role

When his number was called, Clements made some key plays

As far as reading blocks, he may be our best runner. It may be the experience, but whenever he runs he gets positive yardage and he's only a shell of what he use to be.

we always have players like this that could be stars that just dont get the oppurtunity hopefully they do in the nfl though

I wouldn't give him any of Duke or Dallas' carries, but perhaps he can resume his role as the 3rd down back. It's what he's excelled at the most as a Cane besides special teams.

What's strange to me is that so many Canes fans, myself included are expressing concerns that our running game is not where it should be in comparison to a typical UM stable of backs. Yet, guys like Eduardo Clements and Mo Hagens cannot seem to find more than a carry or two per game.

On a related note: James Coley is going to destroy Duke Johnson and no one will notice it until its too late. What the **** is this guy doing giving Duke 4 and 5 consecutive carries in the middle of a game? THat's incompetence. Early in the game Clements, Crawford and Hagens should get carries. Let those guys soften up the other team's defense for Duke to hit home runs in the second half. At least that's what I see.

That's how USC used to do it. And no Im not comparing our other guys to Lendale White.

Lots of good coaching staffs have done it this way for decades. ****, that was the Bobby Bowden special for a long time. Guys like Amp Lee and Marquette Smiff would look like world beaters in the second half of games because their big backs would swap paint with linebackers in the first half.

ive been thinking and saying this for awhile.....like u can liuterally see duke hobbled or gasseed...and him walk back to the huddle only to have a wasted 2 yd play then get taken out.

you didnt shirt Gus the Bus, u have dallas and OT.....use them....Mo Hagens is solid...he alone should get 2 carries a game...just to keep guys honest.

I dont get it imo....

19 for 125 this year, not bad at all. Seems like every time OT is in the game he is running through holes the size of the grand canyon.

Loved that last drive against UNC. Everyone stepped up on O...

Oline
2nd string RB
3rd string RB
And even Morris, despite the **** show he put on for the entire game to that point.

not enough sample size to get drafted, maybe as a UFA and then making a team will be tough. However, with his special teams experience that should help. I totally agree on getting these guys more carries early in games, and how about a bubble screen or two to Duke early in games, then fake it later for a go route to Coley... that just seems easy pickings right there....

I think its absolutely shocking how few touches OT has gotten, he could be a very valuable asset on this offense. On a related note I don't think Duke is being utilized in the passing game enough, not sure if that is on Morris or Coley.

SF, to that point, if you're going to use Duke in that manner, fine. But should he then be doing KO returns? It just goes against conventional wisdom doesnt it?

I agree with the above posts, but to play devil's advocate Duke routinely busts open big plays in the first quarter. That brings in the defense close and allows Morris to air it out. Notice how in the 2nd and 3rd quarters when Duke is gassed, our big plays tend to go down?

Also, what does OT stand for?

Good stuff. I've oft wondered this myself.
