it isn't inconceivable that Ed Reed hangs it up this year as well.

Ed Reed said something his senior year here, about his legacy as a Cane, and what he said, and I paraphrase, was that he wanted to just be remembered as "one of the ghosts of the Orange Bowl."

I was really taken by that. He did not put himself above or behind the other greats, but rather took joy at being alongside them. Some men just transcend mere stats and the moment and instead belong to history. To me he's one of those men.
