Eason , Miami blocked I hope kids considering GA see this

It was said last year kirby wasnt going to let richt former recruits transfer to miami. Anyway look at the qbs richt is recruiting. They all are mobile and eason isn't.

Eason was recruited by Richt and committed to UGA while Richt was there. Not to mention he recruited Sitowski for 2018 and worked to keep Allison in the 2016 class.

Mobility as a QB attribute is a bonus. A nonessential commodity that has a 50/50 track record. It is just as often a hinderance to quality QB play as it is a benefit. The ability to deliver an accurate, catchable ball, on time to the correct target is a necessity. Mobile QBs that can also do this are very rare, few and far between.

I'm happy with the players we're getting and I have faith in Richt to be able to develop their talents, but don't think for one second that CMR wouldn't tell Jarren Williams to kick rocks if Trevor Lawrence came calling.

You need to understand that the #7 Dual threat QB was plan B for this class. Richt's first choice was a pocket passer who didn't pan out.

I don’t have a problem with them being blocked within their conference. That being said I think they should be able to transfer out of conference. Also, if their HC leaves they should be allowed to transfer as well.

Why? Coaches aren't blocked from taking any job they want, why should players be blocked from doing the same?

Right now Mullen can stop a kid from transferring within the SEC when he just did. That's garbage.

At first glance, it looks like a one-sided crappy rule for the kids - but there is a small piece of merit to it.

The rules prevent other schools from recruiting active kids on other school's rosters. Bama could easily see a kid on another SEC team they like and recruit him to transfer....they are shady enough to do so. But since those SEC schools could block that transfer (and most likely would) it doesn't seem worth it, so they stick to the HS and JUCO kids. Even if you changed the rule and allowed kids freedom to transfer anywhere after a coaching change, you would have the same shady tampering tactics. It's obviously not ideal, but you have to at least see some of the reasons behind it. The schedule piece and just so other schools don't get your playbook.

As has been established, this is irrelevant regarding Eason as he's not coming here BUT if a coach "blocks" your transfer somewhere can't you still do it if you pay your own way for the first year at the new school while also avoiding having to sit out a year?

Obviously this wouldn't be an option financially for a lot of college athletes (at least not legally) but a lot of these QB's that already can afford private QB coaches theoretically should be able to foot a year's worth of tuition somewhere in order just to shove it to a coach like Kirby. Or is this another pride issue like when P Diddy's kid HAS to be on scholarship?

If richt is going to the spread featuring a duel threat qb why would he want this kid in the first place? That's why I didn't understand the sitkowski commitment to begin with. Is richt confused this far along in his coaching career? Dam.

If Eason was smart he would transfer to Wisconsin. Elite defense, monster running game w Jonathan Taylor and good OL. Improving WRs and solid TEs in anpro style attack. He would start immediately.

I’m born and raised in Wisconsin and they have never had a legit QB other than Russell Wilson for a season.

you clearly didn’t put much thought into this post regarding freedom of movement.

Quick question: who do you think knows more about the inner workings of a program, the players or the coaches? Rhetorical; obviously the coaches. Pruitt’s at Tennessee; Smart’s at Georgia.

Just an SEC thing? Of course not; Coley went to Miami from FSU.

And any kid who would play for Taggart should have his head examined. 3 schools in one calendar year? Disgraceful.

Kids should be able to transfer to any school, at anytime, as long as they’re academically eligible and the receiving school has room. That’s my opinion and you’re welcome to yours...just support it better next time.

And you clearly know everything went into my thoughts before posting because you are Nostradamus - i'm just bringing up the "other side" of things to add to the debate. As i said, it's a one-sided process but there is a little merit to it. I'm not saying it's right, i'm just saying i understand what some of the intent is to limit tampering and to keep the free agency of college football to a minimum.

Not Nostradamus … obviously.

“Tampering” is a red-herring; worrying about “schools [getting] your playbook” is the worst of excuses. I’m sure a OC/DC who gets an in conference job knows more about the playbook than any disgruntled kid. That’s what I bolded, not the totality of your “thoughts”.

...and that’s the crux of the difference of opinion: I don’t see any merit in stopping or limiting free agency. Again, my opinion, you’re welcome to yours.

What I said without the in depth details because I hate typing. Glad someone else shares this view.

Why would KS block a backup QB from transferring to a school that is outside his conference and one that isn't even in the playoffs? Miami is a ways from even competing with schools like UGA at the highest level.

Makes no sense.

1. Kids still have to sit out a year after a transfer, so why should they be blocked on where they can transfer
2. This rule doesn't prevent recruiting other schools players at all...according to what you laid out it stops Bama from recruiting a kid at Auburn, but what about the kid at Clemson, or Miami, or OSU?
3. Coaches admit that they don't want the kid at a school they play in conference, but their own assistants go to in conference schools all the time. How is that not more damaging than 1 player? Clearly this has nothing to do with a playbook, and everything to do with restricting free movement of the players. Kirby Smart & Jeremy Pruitt have intimate knowledge of how Bama does every single thing in their program. Far more than any single player, yet they're allowed to go take jobs in conference and build entire programs using Bama's model, but a kid can't go play for 1 or 2 years? cmon man. There's no merit to this at all outside of being another way to control these players.

Jacob Eason is blocked from going to Miami by Kirby Smart.NS This is the problem wrong with college football. Players are considered property or they servants to college coaches. But a **** coach can leave a player and take another job without fulfilling his promise to the player. This is unfair and has to stop.If Eason is able to transferred, he should be allowed to go where he wants to go.Coaches have privileged without fulfilling their contract. What are your thoughts? BS or Fair. Got this off face book . Sounds like something smart *** would do

CMR has his QBs, he doesn't need Eason or Patterson, besides they fit the Golden mold not the type Richt really wants. Why he took Eason at UGA I don't know but my guess... he ends up in the PAC 12 somewhere. WSU,Oregon St. or the Huskies.

Lol nobody cares... why are y'all on Easons dck relax he'll be a starting qb just not at UM.

Transferring out is not something that is considered when picking a school

He should have bailed mid year and gone juco so he would be eligible next year.

You really have no clue why CMR took the #1 QB and #2 player overall for the 2016 class? Do us a favor. Post less.

I’m pretty sure this was implemented to prevent a mass exodus of UGA players to join CMR when Smart was hired. Not saying it’s right. I agree with the OP.

Eason should transfer back home say UDub, sit a year and work with someone who can develop QB's
Eason did not get any better from game 1 thru end of year with current UGA staff...
BTW J.From won't either
Take a look at our QB recruits.... they gotta be able to run.... Not Easons strong suit
