Duke now 5*

Our last new five star is Miami running back commit Randy Johnson of Miami (Fla.) Norland. Johnson impressed at the Under Armour, but did his best work during the 2011 season, finishing with 2,087 yards on 208 carries. In one playoff game, he set a county record with 375 yards.

"Johnson is considered the best high school player in the Sunshine State and that is hard to argue," Nee said. He helped to lead his team to a state championship while accumulating more than 2,000 yards on the ground. A common knock on Johnson is his size, and he doesn't have great size, but he has shown time and time again that he is willing to take a hit and bounce back up. His size is not an issue. He is a playmaker both on offense and special teams that can change a game in a single touch. He should be an immediate impact player in college. "

Congrats to the young baller. He earned it. Can't wait to see him in the orange, white, and green.

Let the record show: Randy Shannon commit.
So was Patrick Peterson at one point.

I dont know if you've heard anything about this, but Im extremely interested in hearing about this from the NCAA. When Patrick Johnson was offered what amounts to be a corporate signing bonus and relo package for signing with LSU, PJ went to Randy and offered the Canes the last peek (ie; a chance to match the offer). Supposedly, Randy Shannon documented all of this and took it to the NCAA.
