Duke Johnson?

Maybe.

Duke is insanely talented, but Bush had the benefit of playing on a stacked team.

We need to keep loading up.

i take it as more about using Duke the same way Bush was used. Remember they never tried to make him an every down back. He didn't start - that was LenDale White's job to start and be the bell cow. Bush was the game breaker. Change of pace RB and overall weapon in passing game/running game. One thing about Bush was that even CBs couldn't cover him when he lined up out wide. Dude's route running from the backfield, slot or out wide was tremendous for a RB and **** good for a full time WR. I used to say we need to use Hester the same way. Make him a RB that's getting the ball in open space and as a change of pace to the starter. Duke might become a full time back down the road but for this year I'd go with the Reggie Bush role.

We did try to use Hester like that in his last bowl game and that didn't turn out well at all. But if the offense gets structured around using him in that capacity instead of just trying to throw in some plays here and there, I think he could have an impact like Bush did at USC. I think Duke's future with the Canes could be very bright. We shall see.

After watching prodigy's link and reading what I've already read about him makes me very anxious to see him play at the U.

He's a better Running Back than Reggie Bush. He may not be a better college football playmaker, but he's a more natural RB.

Duke got some great props from Jedd Fisch this morning on QAM in an interview this morning.

Bingo. Especially as incoming freshmen.

Bush may have been a bit more dynamic, maybe, but Duke is way ahead of him as a running back.

Stony you beat me to that. I just finished the interview with Fisch and he said that Duke will contribute and a very dynamic player. They are really expecting great things out of him. He returned a TD in the special team scrimmage. He just needs to keep pushing everyday and the sky is the limit for this kid.

I just want to emphasize to everyone who watches that video up there that Duke's playing against very good competition. Take a look at his opponents. Take a look at the opposing teams' Safeties. Those are college-level athletes. The angles disappear. He turns real athletes completely around (literally). Some guys fall. He stiff arms guys that are 5' 11" or 6' and 175+. For as crazy as SeanTay's HS video looked, he was playing against prep school kids. The guy he jumped over in his HS video is a friend. He's a decent athlete and a great accountant, but he's a 5' 7" 155 pound Cuban kid. On the flipside, take a close look at some of the guys Duke makes to look foolish.

Just sayin'.

Good grief almighty at the triple deke he throws to break loose behind the line at the 3:19 mark. SMH

That's the most amazing thing about that highlight. He's not some kid dominating parochial schools in the middle of nowhere.

He's making south Florida studs look silly.

I'm trying to temper my expectations, but Duke's making it hard. No homo.

I can't watch that video anymore and continue to temper my expectations for him. Like Lu said, this is against real deal competition.

Not sure which moment my jaw drops the most but the kick return starting at 45sec is up there. He breaks through some tackles and then for real, it looks like they speed up the video.

The good thing about that video is there are times he's running through nice holes and there are times he's getting the ball with 2 defenders already in the backfield and he's always successful.

He's not as fast as CJ Spiller, but I wouldn't be shocked if he had a similar freshman campaign where he's ripping off a huge run seemingly every week.
