After a tough loss to Wake Forest on Saturday, the Hurricanes are heading to Durham to take on one of the top defensive teams in the country.

The Duke squad has put on some numbers on the defensive end, while the Hurricanes continue to struggle on offense. Tomorrow, Duke will be even more tested as it is only giving up 59.6 points per game.

Duke has only given up 70 points in four games this season: against Kentucky, Kansas, Notre Dame, and Auburn. They lost two of those games, to Kentucky and Kansas. So, if the Hurricanes want a shot at pulling off an upset, they probably need to score more than 70 points.

Miami is putting up an average of 77.5 points per game this season, which is good enough to take on Duke. But lately, their shot selection has been pretty rough. In the last game, they had eight straight possessions where they didn't even get the ball inside the three-point line. If they want to beat the Blue Devils, they need to utilize Lynn Kidd better and cut off him whenever he gets doubled in the post.

Duke is also an impressive rebounding team, particularly on the defensive end, ranking as the second-best team in the ACC for rebounds, just behind SMU. The Blue Devils are a lengthy team that excels at grabbing boards and crashing the class, with freshman standout Cooper Flagg leading the team with an average of 8.3 rebounds per game.

Duke has a solid lineup with a tall backcourt made up of 6-5 Caleb Foster, 6-6 Tyrese Proctor, and 6-7 Knueppel. In the frontcourt, you’ve got 6-9 Flagg playing the four and Khaman Maluach at a whopping 7-2 in the five spot. This size could make it tough to keep them off the boards. When a shot goes up, Miami needs to find their guy, get physical, and box them out.
