> Golden said it was a game time decision Saturday whether or not freshman tailback Duke Johnson would play. Johnson has been battling a toe injury and told reporters Saturday he's at "95 to 90 percent" in terms of health. Golden said the team had to relieve Johnson from a lot of his duties. Johnson carried the ball 14 times for 47 yards Saturday against North Carolina, but didn't catch a pass or return a kickoff.

"He really fought through it and did a nice job for us," Golden said. "I think he played 25 plays. But we had to hold him out of kickoff returns and that nature. We just got to make sure we continue to monitor those reps like we do all those guys and keep them fresh."

Golden said Eduardo Clements (12 offensive snaps, 10 more on special teams) and Dallas Crawford (special teams only) have to be ready to share the load moving forward. Mike James carried the ball a career-high 22 times for 96 yards vs. UNC.

Duke needs to sit for the duration of the year. He looks like Miller did during the last quarter of last season. Alot slower and fragile than before. This season is a wash and its not worth losing him for the next 2 years.

I really hate that injury.

James had it last year, was a fraction of himself while battling it. Agree Duke needs to sit until it heals - for real.

Bb-b but what about the ACC Coastal? We still control our own destiny even if we lose our next 50 games.

It's a really painful injury. I know it's called turf toe but it actually affects the ball of your foot (i.e. your main pivot point). I was the unfortunate recipeint of this injury after a night of drinking and it made walking a *****. I couldn't imagine playing and sprinting with it. I think we shouldn't force Duke out there and let him rest so we only use him in full strength. if we do now we might get him back before the end of the season

Same thing that happened to Mike last year. Nags all season and really takes away some quicks and burst, as evidenced by Mike's turnaround this year.

Just sit the kid along with Morris. We aren't going to beat FSU.

Let Williams play QB and trade handing the ball to James and Clement. Run the play clock down every play. We MIGHT beat the point spread=victory
