This team was able to play 7 DT’s against UF, allowing the unit to stay fresh all game making the D Line the true difference in that game. What’s interesting is Marley Cook did not see the field, meaning he could actually be the 8th DT on the depth chart. That is championship level depth and will give this staff the luxury to redshirt Armondo Blount, Artavius Jones, and Daylen Russell.

DT snap count

Akheem Mesidor 37 snaps
Simeon Brrow Jr. 29 snaps
CJ Clark 26 snaps
Ahmad Moten 18 snaps
Anthony Campbell 9 snaps
Justin Scott 9 snaps
Josh Horton 5 snaps

I think Moten had an outstanding game and is on track to have a bump in his snaps

Great break down from StevO on Moten. I'm so happy for the dude, he had a choice to pick between Clemson, Oklahoma and Miami. Brent Venables really wanted him bad and he chose to stay home cause he's a Cane thru and thru

Croots need to see all these vids of the 3rd year guys staying the course and developing under this staff. Keeping the guys invested in their own development instead of looking to transfer for snaps is so crucial to building for the long run.

Moten’s development has been a nice surprise. Need Horton to continue to progress as well bc he’s the big body we need. We’ll lose 5-6 DTs this year (if you include mesidor and one portal casualty) so this position becomes a bit of a question mark going into the spring. Will need to sign a good DT out of HS and probably another 2 in the portal for rotational depth.

I was Motens biggest critic all offseason. BY FAR. I had given up. He answered the bell. Gotta tip my cap. The light came on for him. If Horton can follow suit you are talking championship depth at DT for the foreseeable future. Horton looks the part.

Mesidor better get comfortable at DT because if Alston keeps playing as well as he did it will be tough keeping him off the field especially when Bain gets back.
Gotta remember, that's his first game in nearly a year lol he may have had some rust.

David Lake said he thinks Mesidor is more comfortable on the inside so maybe that's the move anyways

Remember you all lost your **** when Darrell Jackson left? Yea Miami is more than fine at DT.

I’d like to see blount at DE in a couple of blowouts, just to get his feet wet.
