Are we in on any other DT recruits for this cycle or are we done? Not sure I feel comfortable with only taking Ford.

We are only taking 1..unless a cant miss prospect wants to join... we are pretty set at the position, we have no seniors and 2 juniors in Moten and Jenkins

None of our DT's are leaving, can't afford to reasonably take more than 1 DT unless we don't plan on taking some next class.

Edit: When the bulk of This year "2016-2017" DT's graduate, we want the majority of the DT's to have 1 year in the system, and at least 2 years to play. 2018 Staff will hit DT's hard, since that year they will be RS or come off the bench behind RJ/Norton as a Freshman. It worked for Kool at Missouri which is why you see a bunch of younger players every other year or so with high pressure numbers (TFL/Sacks) instead of a SR/JR year in and year out.

Missouri DT's recruited:
2010 - 1
2011 - 2
2012 - 1
2013 - 4 (1 didn't make it in i believe)
2014 - 0
2015 - 2
2016 - 1

I honestly don't know if this trend is on purpose, but he seems to only recruit multiple DT's every other year.

I'm confident this staff knows what it's doing with DT recruiting. Their method could be, recruit a big DE that can grow into an athletic DT and a true DT with power and bulk.

Ya I don't understand not taking one more and hope we do.

I like FSU model when it comes to DT...It doesn't have to be that extreme, but definitely don't want only 2 in 2 years.

Coach Kool said the other day that he wanted fast athletic lineman, not big slow lumbering DT's that can't run.
We're not going to be recruiting traditional DT's, more so kids with a lot of athletic upside that can get up to around 260-275lbs, that are versatile, and can play both DT & DE.

I'm completely on board with having a line full of Pass rushing beasts who can also stop the run, similar to what the Seahawks had in 2013 when they crushed Denver & also a lot like what the Giants had when they made their Superbowl runs with having 4 DE's all on the line at once.

If I had a nickel for every time some poster said a DE will grow into a DT...

Our DT depth has gotten to the point where we aren't desperate for bodies. If an impact DT comes onto our radar, I'm sure we won't turn him away.

if we start recruiting a DT, Paranos will alert you

He'll also alert you if another school is recruiting a DT, or if he sees the Hudl tape of a DT, or if he passes a chubby kid on the sidewalk who he thinks could possibly be a DT.

I'll give him credit though. His breakdowns of the guys he posts about a generally thorough and insightful. I just think the scope of his targets might need to be narrowed a little bit.
