I mean we only have 4 returning DTs. Not like we only need 1. We need 1 stud, sure. But we need at least 2 guys.
There might be 1-2 in the entire portal that could beat out Scott and Moten so this is the kind you need to sell 3rd string snaps and might be able to convince him to sign..

There's really just not much in the portal as far as DT is concerned.
Silver seems to be our top target. This kid is a backup plan who has been serviceable for 3 years one of the top 15-20 run defense in P5. No idea if Blay is in the "take" our "kick tires" category as far as DT.
But there's just not much out there….Maybe there will be more as the month progresses or spring.

Exactly…People nitpicking every kid we are recruiting because he isn't a star are hilarious. He is a proven decent player at p4 level (UF played a tougher schedule top to bottom than we did). Clark, Cook, and even Gore did not embarrass themselves here in their roles although obviously as the #3/#5 or 6 DT respectively.
We need a grown man in there to give us some run stuffing snaps to go along with are younger players, some of which are still adding weight…This guy grades out pretty stout against the run (reminds me of Clark actually) in p4 conference.
We lose 4 DT people…And there may be what…6-8 portal DT right now that we'd even want in the top 4 in our rotation? I'm cool with this guy being a #4 DT who may be forced into #3 action if we miss on the 1-2 top targets.
