DT recruiting has been the elephant in the room. Beating out Louisville and Oregon State for a mid level juco coming off a knee injury wouldn't have changed much imo

What elephant? Our dt depth is fine. We are at 6 now and only need 1 more. Losing goldwire means nothing.

I've yet to see anyone tell me why Goldwire would play over Fines or Martin anyways. Fines is strong as a bull and has Dan Sileo level potential. Martin was hand picked by Kool when he was hired.

Kool isn't dumb. He's not being aggressive because he knows we already roll 6 deep at DT as is

Norton was a 4 star on 247 and RJ was viewed as one of the best DL prospects in SF his year. I can't remember a single negative thing said about McIntosh - many were excited about his potential (like Ford).

No, people were sceptical of Norton because the other schools wanted him as a guard. I guess Folden saw something at DT and it worked. I don't remember anything about RJ negatively being said

We were content. First off that was 2014, it had become very clear that Golden could not land DTs very well. We were all extremely happy with Notron. Also was a weak year in terms of DL prospects as it pertained to ratings and while RJ was a 3 star through and through he was a top 2 DE if not the top DE in all of SFLA that year. Lastly, I think it was pretty clear during the ACCCG who the best DT duo was....

We were content. First off that was 2014, it had become very clear that Golden could not land DTs very well. We were all extremely happy with Notron. That's 6 bodies. That's not 6 true DTs. Martin hasn't played a snap at Miami. Fines is not a Miami-quality DT. Technically we're at 4.

And Silvera as a true freshman shouldn't be in the 2-deep this early and heavily relied upon; but he's going to have to because the numbers and quality of depth aren't there.

Norton was a better guard in hs than DT. He played in the ua game at guard. So of course there was questions about him at Dt.
