First Round

20. Kenny Kadji, Miami, Forward/Center, 6-11, 242, Senior: A face-up 4 with a world of talent, though sometimes he no-shows. Still Kadji has the look of an NBA 3/4 right now. Inconsistency keeps him out of the lottery.

23. Shane Larkin, Miami, Guard, 5-11, 176, Sophomore: Rapidly improving point guard with elite quickness. His improvement makes me/scouts wonder what his ceiling is -- likely very high.

No way Shane is that high in a legitimate board. His height is a serious, major detriment and a NBA playoff team isn't going to be looking for a kid that's not going to be able to shoot the ball unless he's 5 feet open, and separation in the NBA is far harder to achieve than NCAA.

But that Kadji line seems legit.

Shane with his bloodlines is already the pick by most to get the most publicity, plus he plays really well in our bigger games. We make a deep run and he continues to play well I dont think his height will hold him back. #23 isnt lottery so I dont think its too much of a reach to expect him to land there.

Like I said in other threads, the next evolution of Shane's game must be to get his whenever, not just hitting wide open jump shots. He will be asked to carry more of the scoring load in 13-14 out of necessity, so you can expect his 1 on 1 game to make a big leap this coming off-season.

Kadji's line seems about right. One thing that worries me about his NBA prospects is he's not very quick with the lateral movement- more of a long strider than anything else. But he's got pretty good timing on his shot blocking, and being able to knock down face-up jumpers as a 6'11" forward makes him some sort of poor man's Chris Bosh.

I would call him a poor man's Bosh/Nowitzki hybrid. Doesn't have the fadeaway jumper, but can hit the 3 and force you to stretch your defense even further.

1)You guys are crazy if you think Shane wont get draft looks. Especially when were in Atlanta in March. Yeah, pretty much scouts are going to be all over him.

2)He should stay, for 1 more year. PnR game still needs work, he needs a consistent midrange game and needs to be able to make that through/lob pass to the big man on the roll better.

It wouldn't shock me to see him leave. This group of guys is really, really tight and with all these seniors leaving I wouldn't be surprised to see him bolt as well.

Hopefully he's really tight with Brown, Swoope and Ralph and Tonye:confused:

I cant see him leaving. He also doesnt have to go cause of financial concerns

Kenny is 25 years old. Going to be interesting to see if he can go that high

Maybe he is tighter with the coach who recruited him, developed him and threw him the lifeline from Depaul.
